My neighbor in SF got one new and let me ride it on occasion. Only mod was a Supertrap like the one on this bike. It was a fun runabout, light, well balanced, very well built with Honda reliability. But in the end, it was still a thumper, and I’m a V-twin guy (not a Harley V-twin guy). This seller is asking a lot for

Living in the Bay Area I’ve seen the test vehicles driving around for well over a year before they were on sale. Saw one parked in a Silicon Valley town for the first time and could not believe how bad it was. As I laughingly pointed at the huge panel gaps and stupid wiper, I noticed the driver walking up and glaring

I’ve been wanting a Jaguar XF Sportbrake - only 250 were imported. I’ve seen only one and that was in the parking lot of a concourse. I never understood why nobody bought them. They look great in person, have lots of power, AWD and practical.

I happen to live down the road from the Hillsborough Concourse and it never disappoints. I have however, noticed a trend where the crowds are getting smaller every year and there are less vehicles. Traditional concourse participants and attendees are getting old so these events must adapt to attract a younger crowd.

I don’t think there will ever be a perfect car for everyone but for me, the one that came the closest was my 2002 Audi allroad. I know this will raise some eyebrows but hear me out.

Here in the Bay Area Tesla’s are stacked at every stoplight and intersection. Half the kids at our school get dropped off in Teslas. It’s been like this for years but its changing. Now we see a lot of Rivians, Hyundais, Kias, and a few Lucids and BMW i4s in the mix.

Confirming that KAQ is indeed Khadem Abdullah al-Qubaisi. Convicted and jailed for stealing from the 1MBD fund. The ex Malaysian prime minister is also in in the clink while a third accomplice, Jho Low, has been on the run for years, probably hiding out in China. The KAQ Bugattis were registered in Switzerland and

1977 Peugeot 504 GL sedan in white with a manual. We picked it up from the factory outside Paris. It was an Africa Edition, so it came with uprated suspension, bigger carb, uprated radiator, skid plates, and a bunch of other modifications. Toured with it around Europe for the summer (it got broken into in Rome) and

A neighbor wanted to get a Baja to replace his Ford Explorer Sport-Trac that partially melted when another neighbor’s home burned down. It would fit his needs and be easier to maintain but I highly recommended the Turbo version over the sluggish NA model. He got the turbo and was very happy hauling ass and antique

Also live in the Bay Area. It seems like every other car these days is a Model 3 or Y. Often they congregate in groups of 3 or more on roads, school pickup lines, mall parking lots, everywhere. It’s like when Toyota launched the original Lexus LS400 and everyone started calling them Beverly Hills Corollas - These are

I’ve noticed a fair number of first gen Cayennes with very high mileage still on the road in NorCal, especially the non turbo ones. These were well built and seem to hold up if maintained. I recently spoke to a local Audi/Porsche dealer mechanic that services them and owns one himself. His has over 200K on it and

Not a valid reason indeed. This was circa 1991 before mandatory Hours of Service rule changes and stricter enforcement. Long hours on the road with no sleep makes some people do rash things. Also maybe meth....

I used to drive from SF to NYC twice a year during my college years. I loved being on the open road and seeing this huge country. Had a CB to monitor the trucker channel and keep abreast of speed traps and traffic backups around metro areas. Out on the long stretched of nowhere I would get to know the truckers and

I prefer the old one. I’m old

Dumb name and boring logo. LR can do better

With a budget of $45K I would encourage looking at a slightly used 2020-2022 Highlander Limited or Platinum. These still have the 3.5V6 with close to 300HP and 500o pound tow rating. Super comfy with all the bells and whistles, and your typical Toyota build quality, especially evident in the interior materials. Plus

Back in the late 90s I knew a fellow gear head kid who chose the right bachelor degree (one that would garner a substantial income right after graduation) that bought a lightly used E36 M3 in “Daytona Violet” with Gey Vador seats for 30% less than the more desirable colors at the time. It was a purple hue and quite

The Germans have been devising some pretty lame names for a while now, but the Chinese are definitely upping the ante. ZEEKR? Seriously, that has to be the dumbest car brand name ever, even worse that BYD - “build your dreams” or whatever...

That is correct - however they used a NA Ecotec and a later development of the 2 liter with a turbocharger. We used the previous generation that was supercharged (Cobalt SS and Ion Redline) and we bolted on a bigger Harrup charger and a new tune to boost the power substantially.

The Elise/Exige we got stateside had the very peaky on/off Celica engine. We worked with GM Performance and some very talented engineers to install the GM 2.0 supercharged motor tuned to 280HP. No cutting or drilling into the chassis - It looked stock and we even got it CARB certified. Road&Track did an article on it
