What’s the brand of flashlight? I’ll buy one
None. I will not support an economy run by a totalitarian, repressive, genocidal and expansionist regime. I really like the Polestar 2 and was seriously thinking about getting one, but then I found out they are built in China.
If Pontiac was still around, this would be their new Asstec
In a past life I worked at a company that engineered GM Ecotec engine swaps for the Lotus Elise/Exige. The folks at Hethel were aware of us and invited the execs and engineers to their Evora launch event at Laguna Seca. Got to drive a brand new press car in the mountains around the track. It was an amazingly balanced…
Sacrilege on the F40
That purple is aimed at the Asian market - they love their purple as you correctly observed, its a color of royalty. Still not classy tho..
This company is a total shit show. It’s a typical Silicon Valley play where they try and operate as a “platform” and run users through a shitty App that’s supposed to be convenient. I recently spoke to one of their VCs about all the issues reported in the media, on review sites, and even their FB page (check it out -…
Saw the pre-production model at their San Mateo California showroom as well. They are just stores in a mall. Saw one in Marina Del Rey and in Burlingame and there are quite a few more. Anyway Spoke with the rep and he said the battery packs and electric motors are all in house designs but the driver assistance tech…
Thanks for sharing. As a lifelong sailor and tinkerer, I went down the rabbit hole on this series and been binge watching for the last 3 days. This is the best boat building series I’ve come across on YouTube.
A colleague got one as a CPO with 30K on the odo. Same color combo. Amazingly solid for a convertible, very mechanical sounding, powerful V8, comfortable. 50K later it was a rattle can, constant issues with the power top, trim pieces and odds and ends breaking, prematurely wearing, and the list went on. But - that…
I think we are seeing the beginning of a trend here and more western companies will start pulling out although there will be exceptions. Historically popular brands such as Buick and luxury ones such as Mercedes will be fine unless the CCP implements higher import restrictions and tariffs.
It’s Dodge Fart overseas
Interesting that it took western auto companies so long to realize that the Chinese intent was to eventually build their own domestic brands after they got all the tech knowledge needed from their “joint ventures” that require foreign companies to partner with local companies (all with ties to the CCP) and “share”…
I recently drove through Solvang, this fake Danish theme town north of Santa Barbara in CA. There were electric Mokes all over the place
Some interesting and not so interesting cars:
I live in the Bay Area and see Polestars on a daily basis. And they are certainly not non-descript. They are a cohesively designed with nice subtle detailing and appear to be very well built. I would get this over a Model 3 any day.
Did not know Smiths was still in business. Been looking for a trio of aux gauges for my RRC and considering VDO. Now that I see Smiths offering RR Series I gauges I’m going to try and source them!
As a 10 year owner of a 91 RRC now with 128K on the odo, I can say that the cost of ownership is reasonable IF, you find a good qualified mechanic that specializes in old Rovers, scour CL for parts to stock for down the line, know where to get parts at reasonable prices online, do the preventative maintenance, do some…
Real Range Rover is the Classic - my forever vehicle is a 91
Indeed a feature for feature clone to the Winnebago Revel, especially the new updated version that moves the water tank and batteries into the cabin. Looks like they use the same suppliers for the bed system, pop out wings, AC unit, etc. The Jayco looks nicer in photos with it’s Italian sourced cabinetry and Euro…
