Ours didn’t end in a dictatorship and later total defeat. Do you really not know how the French Revolution ended? It ended with the installation of a Bourbon monarch handpicked by France’s enemies.
This guy really lives in your mind rent free huh?? Everyday its another complaint or nag about him. Can we get back to things like the top 10 lists we all used to love?? Im tired of seeing what he ate for breakfast or what shoes he decided to wear. The AMG GT Black Series was just shown off, why cant we read about…
This is right. Why?
“However, your first assertion that “the police is essential to any society” is much, much more difficult to prove. If you have some sort of proof that you need an armed, unaccountable, paramilitary force given authority to use deadly force to have a society, I’d be fascinated to hear it.”

Ive been saying this for year, starting with the indtroduction of “low profile” light bars. No reason for that OTHER than trying to make it more difficult to identify a car as a police car. If they really are “protecting and serving” they should want to broadcast their presence, not hide it.
There is no “conversation”. At this point it feels like a witch hunt.
Starred you because I’ve never understood unmarked police cars used for traffic stops. The whole point is safety right? So what do speeding people do when they see marked police cars? That’s right, slow down. Unmarked police cars doing traffic stops is about money, pure and simple.
Great post. To add to this, the cars should bright neon or some other high-visibility color. The Police need to be seen as a beacon of light and safety that citizens should feel protected by, not as something dark that skulks in the shadows trying to catch you.
The thousand people that would get a job in France are certainly not pissed.
Another garbage clickbait headline. How are they pissing off “everyone possible?” Sure the factory workers who had hoped to be rehired might be disappointed, but that’s not “everyone possible.” I’m not pissed. You’re not pissed. Mrs Wilson from number 43 is not pissed. As the last paragraph clearly states, this is SOP.
Agreed. Few people here would consider buying a car made there anyway. Cutting corners is fine for basic products, but I rely on a car to keep me alive.
Funny, I started reading Jalopnik when I was 14 year old with very few friends- it resonated with me because it was irreverent, nerdy as hell, and I couldn’t wait to buy a manual Volvo wagon. What does that make Jalopnik?
The end product, I understand. Building it out of an original instead of a replica, I do not.
Laypeople think that this increases costs but it actually reduces costs because they can speed up the assembly line by just building one spec and they also get to order the parts in much larger quantities which drops costs massively. That’s why companies like Toyota can afford to just give every car adaptive cruise…
If a Jeep is around $48k then why are you surprised that it’s payment is so high? Aren’t E-trons around $80k out the door? Do you think dealerships own these things for free? Margins aren’t THAT great for most regular vehicles, with the exception being highly optioned big trucks/SUVS and luxury/high-end…
