“I’m guessing the rust-free Nevada Jeep heard it was coming to Michigan and decided it needed a rustproof undercoating. So it gave itself one.”

No guards in Daggerfell?
So here’s where I stand on the DBX. I don’t have a problem with SUVs/crossovers. I know they’re boring, would be better as a wagon/hatch, etc. But I understand that they appeal to a lot of people for a lot of reasons. What I don’t understand is who is buying an ASTON MARTIN crossover? The entire validity of Aston…
That’s kind of my point though. Based on my (admittedly non-exhaustive) knowledge about her as an artist and her public persona I would be surprised if she agreed to a Vogue photoshoot without the goal being at least a bit of subversion of the norm. Not so far as “Fuck being pretty” but just “What makes me feel…
Not trying to pile on, but I think the point of her doing this was for it to be about what SHE likes and wants. Like, I can see not making it perfect or maximizing aesthetic coherence being a deliberate choice.
My biggest takeaway from this is that I’ve been getting most of my automotive news from the same website since at least 2013. In 2013 I was 27 years old. Do you know how old that makes me now?! Fuck.
I see what you did there..
Yeah, it’s the “travel, exercise, personal appointments and ‘other activities’” that gets me. You mean stuff that everyone else either has to do (work travel/commuting) or doesn’t have time to do (any of the rest) and don’t get to consider it part of our work week?
Is that not Johan Hill?
Subcompact, no?
Let me ask my cousins, Landon, Logan, Lleyton, Landry, and Lawson... The funniest thing to me about it is that it’s NOT either of their parents’ first initial. WHY??
“Front quarter: The new ones look good! Hyundai is doing interesting things with camouflaging the lighting into the grille lately.”
Twas but a jest, good sir. Meant as a simple juxtaposition of your lengthy and considered response against a trite and seemingly inaccurate interpretation of said response.
Lmao. This motherfucker said “git gud”
Could be rough history, could be having never been through anything rough in their life. Sheltering, privilege, and a lack of good examples can lead to some pretty fucked up individuals.
Yeah, I can’t imagine any context where this makes it past the stage of “passing thought you immediately feel guilty about”. Like, even if they were the same race, just no.
Oh, for sure, and I’m not saying that inoffensiveness is all companies should strive for. But I don’t think this was a conscious design choice with the intention of spicing things up, I think they were just designed without bolt-holes and they were thrown in at the last minute resulting in some very unappealing wheels.
It’s the way every one of the spokes is cut into at a different place that really irks me. It’s like they designed the wheel and then remembered “Oh yeah! Bolt holes!” and then just threw the pattern over it in Autocad and called it a day. At least in your second example there are designated places for the bolt holes.
Seriously though. It is multiple people’s ENTIRE JOBS to make cars look aesthetically pleasing, or at least inoffensive. How does this shit slip by?
