I opened Jalopnik in a really short window so I only saw the Jeep from the top of the wheel arches and up. I was pretty interested but as I scrolled down I became less and less interested in this Jeep.

I hear you, but I just don’t think the risk is nearly as great as mass media would have you believe. And it’s not just a few seconds — depending on a huge number of factors, it can be a big deal, one where the kid and everyone would be happier and perhaps even safer if the kid just stayed in the car for a few minutes.

Car problems that I see daily. First the Victims are typically at fault. Walk around ANY walmart parking lot and note the number of cars that smell of leaking gasoline. Take note of the tires that are bald, and the huge number rolling on 1 or more emergency compact spares. All cars need constant maintenance. Older

That sounds ambitious by Chrysler standards.

Chrysler plans to completely phase out the carburetor out by 2018.

Why is this on Jalopnik now?

This thread should be changed to “Best Lionel Hutz Lines”

“Hey, don’t touch my stuff! Wait, this isn’t the YMCA...”

RIP Phil Hartman

I’ll never understand the TPMS hate especially in a car that is driven occasionally. One less step to go out for a drive, the car will tell you you have a low tire, no need to check all four tires, yes it is lazy, but come one does anyone really enjoy checking their tires?

1. Exit/Entry ramps at enthusiastic speeds. Not legal but I love shooting off a ramp and blasting down the highway - especially when some buster speeds up instead of letting me merge in.

This seems like a horribly organized event with not enough instruction, maybe no drivers meeting, little oversight, and way too many cars on track at once. What the hell is this? If you have this many incidents in one or two sessions it’s time to red flag the trackday and seriously re-evaluate what the fuck you’re

I don’t think stability control would fully save you if one set of wheels is off on bumpy dirt road, with a drunk driver that already has minimal control over his vehicle.

It does not “always” work. Have you put it in every situation to verify that claim? No? Did not think so. A situation like this (half asphalt and half slick grass), by the time it actually has enough traction to work well it was already being turned even further by the truck. You do realize it was trying to brake the

Personally, when I encounter a crazy person on the highway that’s tailgating and driving aggressively I just get the fuck out of their way. I’ve seen too many of these stories that end up with people wrecked or shot.

I like how he signaled before going into the shoulder to make an illegal pass.

“This thing from was so bad, otherwise reasonable Americans to this day think that diesels are the spawn of the devil himself.”

That little pour ‘spout’ design is responsible for more spilled oil than the Exxon Valdez. It might look like it’ll help you cleanly transfer your used oil into a separate container, but half of it will end up on your garage floor no matter how careful you try to be.

Dear Netflix;

The only suitable analogy to be made between the anti-vaxxers and cars is to equate them to the people who used to refuse to wear seatbelts because they were certain - despite all evidence against it, including films such as Red Asphalt and Signal 30 - that it is safer to be thrown from a wreck than to be contained

I made it 0:47. The amount of logical fallacies in just that brief period has lowered my IQ by at least 1 standard deviation. I’m going to go boost my IQ now by counting to potato...
