In Annapolis there’s a Corvette Group that meets weekly, full-on Boomers and most are former Military. Really nice group who obviously care about their wide range of Vettes. (I brought my E-Type out and they made jokes about my life choices and asked some pretty specific questions...)

My first car... 1987 Volvo 740 GLE Turbo Wagon, Manual in Silver with the OxBlood interior. Loved everything about that car, even the Alpine head unit that lost the coding if you ever had battery issues.

This is being reported as being a net win for VW since they have had such issues with software development where Rivian has excelled. Rivian wins because they might be able to leverage sourcing raw materials using VW’s scale. (No clue if an R2 is viable as a Scout like others have posited.)

There’s at least ONE Supreme Court Justice jealous about NOT having to file a disclosure to the public on this gift.

The value-add of the Dealership Model is 3rd Party software?

This, surprising to the author fact, has been occurring for decades along the NorthEast Corridor. Pretty much every time the temperature is over 90F, they reduce the speeds along the curving spots due to expansion of the rails. Simple safety measure experienced riders of that segment would know about!

Looking forward to getting this...

A perfect example might go $120K and this isn’t one. But given the work done, it’s not all that outrageous.

$2,538,751.... From end of 2019 to today.

Let’s play with math -

And those “fines” get passed along to consumers in the form of pricing dynamics.

In other topics I have pointed out I drive a R1T and made the decision for “Full EV” knowing the differences in performance and how it played into road-trip scenarios. I made sure to educate myself enough to understand how my purchase would play into my particular needs (Great thus far...but I still have an ICE Volvo

Simplest version - Individual Freedoms being measured against Government Interventions. Throw in Constitutional Powers allocated to Federal versus State and people lack an understanding of how the laws get made.

It’s about how you sell an idea and “mandates” along with “EV” gets lost among most people. Talking about transitioning the tech gets boring and loses an audience. So, they screwed up the messaging and lost the narrative.

1st Gear: The mistake was going full EV as the mandate and skipping over the “hybrid” step required to get both scale and adoption. In 2024, the costs are still too high and the low-cost versions are a few years away from domestic OEMs.

The Officer’s vehicle is blocking traffic as she approaches the 2nd drunk. We’re seeing the dash cam video for her patrol car as it was hit from behind by the 1st drunk.

For reasons beyond comprehension, Musk’s Cult believe him to be infallible. Tesla has brain-drain to the benefit of Musk’s other investments alongside the continued, unfounded limitless funds they provide for his diversions.

If Tesla had anything resembling an independent Board, they would have called Musk’s bluff a long time ago and told him to walk. It’s not like he designs, builds, programs or has any daily involvement in the development process.

That section of I-70 through Carroll County is 70mph with most people doing 85. (It’s pretty straight and high visibility throughout.)

Guess I’ve been Livin’ the Dream. My local Volvo dealer walks the car with me before they take possession for any servicing. Write up the obvious points of concern (Small scratch on the passenger door that paint covered but left a small dent I barely noticed) and send me on my way.
