It feels like the lawyers told someone to write an article correcting yesterday’s Gizmodo article...
There is an equity issue that dictates how most public companies rely on stock or cash assets. The difference between liquid assets and leveraged property can be significant when taking loans.
Alignment issues are the wet-dream of economists...
The effects of stock buy-backs rests solely in the reduced funds going into R&D and rather into the pockets of shareholders. The general public is led to falsely believe in the stability of a companies future relative to the marginal positive effect of higher valuations.
2nd Gear: Who would have thought that years of self-reporting would get you lax standards?
Three years of living in Boca while I was teaching at Nova Southeastern in the mid 90's taught me that the people in Palm Beach County have little patience for Spring Break nonsense.
You recognize that the ability to leverage those shares is removed? Tesla would no longer control them and raising funds based on the ownership is what I am referring to. The equity position shifts to the lawyer without the benefit of having sold them.

Amusing amount of people who commute up 83 to avoid MD taxes.
My cousin, who is law enforcment, sent me this link with the comment “WTF”. They can’t understand the departments that allow this shit (small town cop where the occasional drinking teen or idiot speeder are the hot crimes!)
I agree, but this is using Consumer Reports demographics for surveys so the sampling is not representative off general public.
