It’s their fancy name for stuffing chopped carbon fiber strands into a mold. It’s cheaper than laying up individual plies, but not as strong by weight. Basically it’s like particle board vs. plywood.

I’m guessing the fording depth is somewhere between ‘mall puddle’ and ‘splashy fun time’

Paid $5800 for a clean 2000 4x4 with 105K on the clock 3 years ago. Put about $3000 into it replacing all the worn out bits, Gibson exhaust, and adding a light lift with 30" tires. Loved that car. Got hit by a dude with no insurance last summer. Luckily it worked out. He was rich and foreign. Ended up compensating me…
