Yey I always like hearing about pro gamer trans women. A friend and I went to PAX South this year and I was surprised how big of a presence it seemed there was of trans women, despite our relatively small percentage of the population. I read the headline to mean that the weed store owner was pressured into paying off his own student loans and I was very intrigued about the irs agent’s motives and what crime that would be.

Oh god, I had to read this about 4 times before I realized that the IRS agent was making the dispensary owner pay off the IRS agent’s student loans. I was reading it that the IRS agent made the dispensary owner pay off his own student loans, and I could not, for the life of me, figure out why he would care.

I’m DYING. Clearly you need to jump on that mentorship program, because I can imagine Samantha Bee monologuing the shit out of this.

You know I’m torn on this! As a woman and person of color it’s great for ME. You do understand that fiction has an important role in helping people empathize with and understand unfamiliar people and social settings, right?

Like, this game is not going to save any sex workers. But it will do something useful if it can help a few gamers see them as a little more fully human and complex.

Any depiction of prostitution that isn’t “abused female sex slave who would do anything to escape” is a step forward for the medium. It’s not to say that that story *doesn’t* exist, but it isn’t the *only* prostitution story that exists.
