This would have made a good and insightful article. Too bad all we got from the “author” (hi ChatGPT) was imaginary connections between this and Dobbs which are entirely unrelated for a number of reasons. Furthermore, your argument is the human one here, because legally this woman should be stopped from getting

I don’t understand the connection to Dobbs or Roe here.

I’m not seeing how this connects to Dobbs or Roe. Plus it takes place in California, which hasn’t changed its policies on access to abortion rights or healthcare. If anything it has strengthened those rights.

I would question how the state is served by this prosecution. If someone commits murder, there is a state interest in locking that person up to protect the rest of the citizenry.

ANother way to frame it is that this case is in California. Dobbs has had zero effect on California’s state laws.

What episode was that? Gonna have see for myself.

I have the same struggle. If you want to talk about what a post-Dobbs world looks like, it’s probably wise to choose a case that was charged and prosecuted after Dobbs as opposed to over a year before the decision. There’s no evidence here that CA prosecutors would be treating this case any differently if Roe were

This is tricky. If you’re pro-choice then you have to hold that after a child is born, the parents are ultimately responsible for what happens.

anyone who requests a pronoun will be referred to as “hey you.”

Respectfully, this piece is in very poor taste. I actually agree with the general premise of it: I was a public defender for the first four years of my career. The prison system is very corrupt, and I have long advocated for there to be an age cut off for people who no longer pose a threat to society to be released.

lol, right? Like, someone in the United scheduling team; “What time should we make the Amsterdam flight?”

“4:20"

“Ok, 4:20 is good... why are you laughing Carl?”

A dude on the 4:20 flight to Amsterdam was super hungry? I couldn’t make that up if I tried.

1. All depends on when and how you shop for tickets. I’ve had more than a few flights where economy plus (my requirement; long long legs) to international business is 1k more - and that’s not horrendous when you’re talking a ticket that already costs 2k or so. It’s not a 10k/15k ticket like the old international first

Not everyone who flies business is wealthy :p

Honestly, the main lesson here is that you NEVER tell the medical professionals that you took Mifi. There is no way to detect the presence of Mifi in your system. If you are concerned after a self-managed abortion, you just need to say that you are bleeding and you think you may have been pregnant.
I say this as a

I’m cracking up thinking about the metallica doc where their therapist starts to see himself as a member of the band and is passing them notes with lyrics he wrote for them to use

I don’t know that I’d call The New Russell Brand woke. He more seems to be going down the “anti-woke without quite saying it” corridor, i.e. Joe Rogan. Though perhaps a bit more malicious, i.e. Jordan Peterson.

Uh Russell Brand is an anti-woke Joe Rogan MAGA psycho.

Anyone who watched the documentary Hill made about his therapist and his relationship with his therapist could have clocked this. That documentary is a big mess of boundaries. His therapist and him tell each other they love each other. He invites a documentary crew he’s directing into his therapy sessions. He explores

This is a shithole country.
