I would join an adult Girl Scout troop in a hot minute. There would be wine, right?

it was originally supposed to be about Kavanaugh’s first day on the Supreme Court, but that’s too depressing to think about
Now and every single day.
My hope is that Kavanaugh will not be confirmed. I was opposed to him even before the sexual assault allegations emerged. Now? I really hope that the Senate does not make the same mistake twice, especially if the FBI investigation reveals damaging facts.
Watching his wife throughout his ridiculous display of whatever that was, to me she had the look of “I am in for it when we get home”. He comes off as the kind of dick who takes all his drunken frustration out on his wife. Whatever. I don’t feel sorry for her. But I couldn’t shake that thought.
3) Mark Judge says “I don’t recall” 88 times, and Kavanaugh gets voted in.
Every love affair is a tiny forever.
In the 1970s a university graduate hitchhiked from Glasgow to Tehran to start his new job. On the way he met a very posh man who was going to stay at his father’s house whilst it was empty. They exchanged info, and the hitchhiker was invited to a party at the British ambassador’s house. A ballet dancer who was friends…
I think it was Colbert who, last night in a monologue, illustrated that this guy would be rejected in a job interview for Arby’s.
My mom’s office had a UPS driver who was a sarcastic pain in the ass. One day she couldn’t find a seat at a popular fried chicken restaurant during a busy lunch hour. The UPS driver was there and offered to let her sit at his table with him, promising not to talk to her. Luckily they did talk, and they’ve been married…
This is really bad but I was secretly hoping, considering how much yelling Kavanaugh was doing yesturday, that he would go home and drink himself silly and either get into a domestic disturbance or arrested for drunk driving.
He’s retiring from office and has gone on record as being anti-trump. There was no reason to endorse Kavanaugh. None.
No. If he is confirmed, he’s there for life. On a practical level, short of being convicted of attempted rape, his sinecure is safe.
True. Furthermore, the Democrats already set possible perjury “traps” even before all the sexual assault allegations emerged.
Porque no los dos? If it were just about achieving a conservative bench majority, they could easily withdraw him and name another. No, they’re doubling down because they feel we must be defeated, we must know our place, we must remember that they are in charge and they own us.
Seconded. Are there any other high-ranking judges out there who share Kavanaugh’s opinion on indicting presidents (and how we “shouldn’t” do it)? Because I firmly believe that’s the singular reason he was nominated.
Patton Oswalt is a treasure. That is all.
I’m so glad to hear you found it helpful. So important to treat yourself with the same care and respect you treat those around you. As Ram Dass said, we’re all just walking each other home. In that vein, thanks for the thank you.
Thanks for enriching this discussion. For many people it is as exactly as you say—hopeful, and empowering. Others find that it’s really important to say “hey, I was victimized, this thing happened to me against my will”.
There are 2 other types that a bit more Buddhist in flavor, but very powerful, IMO.
