I agree with your statement, but I don't think that Sapphire was trying to push Precious as a representation of the black community, or the black female community as a whole, or even her entire student body, I think she was trying to faithfully show some of the problems a section of her students faced and act as a

The book is that way too, although it's written in the first person. Precious has been let down by pretty much every adult in her life and has little to no education. She does sort of bloom into a more thoughtful person near the end of the novel when she finds herself through her classes, but up till that point

I know right.

The sketch was crazy long but I loved it.

Nice downward dog she threw in there.

OK I agree it was way too long, but that celebrity Jeopardy redux was hilarious. I was still giggling about Le Tits Now this morning.

Rudolph was perfection as Bey: the voice, the little "I know I'm awesome" shoulder shrug. SAT-UR-DAY NITE! And I loved Short getting blown away by the wind machine. The best bit in the show, by far!

He's currently interested in acting (and writing his own plays/movies), as well as languages (french and japanese — he chose those himself), and he also plays a lot of lego where he's engineering the lego to do different things (he's

Agreed - I have a science major Dad and a English major mom. I both built rockets with my Dad, and read Jane Austen with my mom. I studied both in college (majored in a hard science, minored in a liberal arts subject), and I think both are important.

That is the exact phrase that went through my head when I saw the title of this piece.

Wanted to get in early with this one:
