I am in an interracial marriage and wholeheartedly disagree. When commisserating with similar couples, it seems many of their choices were informed by blatantly white supremacist notions. If you close your eyes you’d swear you’re listening to a kkk member.

Maybe it’s just the circles I was in (NJ/Philly) but I never knew anybody who stanned for Morris Chestnut like that. After the Stella movie, all I kept hearing is how “foine” and “chocolate” Diggs was. I distinctly remember this because I wasn’t impressed because I’m West Indian and he totally butchered the accent…

Nah... Taye Diggs was set up to become the next Denzel, with black female stans everywhere. Then he made a series of cringeworthy statements about black women, and married the whitest woman he could find. I remember my friends cancelling him in droves... mostly about his tone deaf comments though.

I don’t give a rat’s ass who he dates, but he is most definitely going down the Taye Diggs path of career suicide. You can’t try to make your living doing super black movies, which require black female dollars to succeed, but live a life that shows that you automatically nix black women as potential partners.

It’s time for brands to go back to being depersonalized concepts with a fictional logo or mascot. Most people aren’t constituted to represent some huge concept with and for their entire lives.

I should also add that my attorney who put the deal together was black and female. She’s outstanding, but doesn’t do litigation. That is a much smaller, nuanced area and most regular real estate attorneys Don’t litigate... they’re mostly about contracts and due diligence.
