He's a Powell, not a Simpson. Homer probably forgot to look him up.

Really? I thought the "Eastern Seaboard" pretty much meant the area roughly between New York City and Washington, DC.

David Cross really understood this better than anyone in his "Redneck Voice" standup bit. Rednecks are everywhere, man, from Georgia to California to Alaska to Montana to Nebraska to Maine.

Man, the thought of any season 9 episode in the top 10 is wild to me. I found a list of my favorite episodes that's from about four years ago (and needs serious updating)— and I only had one season 9 episode in my top 50.

Ha, says a robot. What are you, one of those people against inter-species marriage? Hate crime!

"Objectionable" isn't quite the word I'd use, but taken in toto, I find the behavior of the gun store owner to be that of an angry misanthrope who imagines himself as a Real Man confined by Modern Society.

Phil 2 is a psycho. This isn't just some military shit. I think he wants Phil dead.

I would be fine with everyone but Phil and Carol dying next episode. This episode was about all I could take of them.

I've had enough of everyone who isn't Phil and Carol, honestly. This episode drove them into sadistic, dehumanizing behavior. And I think Phil 2 is a legit psychopath— he's pretty much waiting for an opportunity to kill Phil that he can justify to the rest of the group.

DID you listen to what he said? He didn't say "Your plan is ridiculous; trying to allow overweight people to ride horses is ridiculous." He said "I don't agree with your entire rainbow world view where people can just do what they want." AND he got angry about the fact that Nathan was even trying such a thing. I

Yeah, I know they don't care. But you know what? Even whatever page view they got from me this article doesn't make up for the many they've lost from me by dumbing down the site.

The chasm between the "aim" of people like him and the "reality" of the situation is massive.

Really, because I thought the joke was that this fat guy got absurdly angry that Nathan was helping other fat people, and also he clearly lives in a fantasy where his toy sheriff's badge and arms collection will protect him from some imaginary tyranny.

I used to visit the AV Club daily and read multiple articles here. That was when the site had a bevy of great critics who loved and cared about the media they wrote about. Now the site is a dumping ground for anyone's mashup project, and most of the critics seem to either be in a contest to see who can use the word

Oh, hell, this is why I should write things down instead of guessing at them afterward.

Snow, or cocaine?

He is a treasure indeed, but I think I've seen Daryl Gates impersonators who knew more about computers.

Yeah, I would expect them to have a restriction for places that served food. Just talking about places where some unrelated product or service is offered.

I'm curious about the laws about that. I've been to some boutiques that serve beer and wine; I've been to a barber shop that does. I don't remember seeing a liquor license of any kind posted in them, so I wonder if they're allowed to give a customer a drink but not sell it.

I was looking through a list of season 10 episodes earlier today, and I was surprised how many I either didn't remember or thought came much later because they were so bad they prompted me to start giving up on the show.
