Just keep telling her that all toys are for all kids, that girls can do anything, etc. Get her to question why things are divided that way. There's so much reinforcement of the extreme gender binary for kids that age from anyone who markets to kids, layered on top of generations of adults and their issues with it.

YES. There was another pair of books like this about 10 years ago. Survival guides or something. The girls one had shit about slumber parties and the boy's had practical things like how to start a campfire with sticks. I explained to my daughter that they were really for all kids and that if she wanted she could have

Grr. Ack. Omg. I am a vintage clothing dealer and have a resale brick and mortar shop. I could totally dress each and every one of those women in amazing, unique, and absolutely affordable and realistic pieces that would be cuter and more believable. Hollywood costumers: why don't you shop vintage more often. WHY?!?!

In which case it would be a metaphor with an inserted disfluency.

Yes.

No food on faces. Ew. Don't care if you're cute. Food on faces yuck. Do not want.

She didn't say "Bras are the Devil." She said "Bras are like the Devil."

Nope.

One of my favorite college courses was 20th C Lit, taught by a woman professor and she only assigned woman authors. She didn't make a point of it, and when she was inevitably asked about it she would turn it around and ask the student why they thought other authors had any more merit. I caught the pilot about 10 minutes late, but my first impression was just that Anna Ferris is terrible and it would have been better with another actress. Janney was funny. The plot & jokes, meh. Maybe I have Sitcom Stockholm Syndrome, but I didn't find it terrible. Just typical.

She just sounds like another ex child star who has become surrounded by sycophants. "EVERYONE LOVES ME AND EVERYTHING I DO AND SAY IS GENIUS"

Ditto. The collection looks like a middle school girl's magazine collage diary entry about feminism. And not in a good way.

Not only that, but PRIVACY. An employer is not entitled to know anything about their employees' healthcare, let alone have influence over it. Nor are they the ones we want making decisions about health in general. We want doctors to do that, and by extension, the HHS. They are the ones who pointed out that excluding

Midriff, not "mid-drift"

1. Or she could point out that our cultures requires women to see themselves in terms of our place on the "sexy" scale, and simultaneously shames us for it. Help them see how messed up that is, and that it's ok not to participate in either side of the binary.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I LOVE this show and here's why:

No matter how much you spend to rent a home, the rent does not include permission to destroy the contents of the home.

Garbage was left in the can, in the garage. Not taken out. Who knows how long it was left there to ferment in the uninsulated garage in the summer. Not ok.

I wish she were playing somewhere near me.
