I’m okay with this primarily because I won’t ever buy a BRZ for the power, if I wanted power I’d by a vette, I’d buy a BRZ for handling and size, but most likely I won’t buy a BRZ as I personally would rather have something a bit more upright, like a 2 series.
That’s my concern as well, the show doesn’t even appear to be as natural as the Old TG was. You could tell stuff was scripted on old TG, but everything surrounded it seemed rather natural. This one seems like sketch-tv impersonating reality-tv.
Grand Tour was such a letdown for me. Super scripted but without the occasional gold that Top Gear had. Top Gear had a “we’re gonna do this stupid outrageous thing” that worked great like launching a space shuttle. Grand Tour has a “wow, this stupid outrageous thing is a total accident”. I get that they wanted to burn…

Could it be that stock vehicles aren’t designed to be jumped? It’s still a 5,500-6,000lb vehicle that wasn’t ever intended to leave the ground. Actually most any sort of commerically/militarily produced explosive won’t explode if you shoot it. In fact, you can burn C4 and it won’t explode. It will only go off if you use a detonator. Actually the more I think of it, aside from maybe nitroglycerine I’m not sure that just the act of shooting most homemade…
Its almost like you think the price being 70k would significantly change the price to fix it over a car that costs 100k instead.
On the other hand, every insurance quote I’ve ever gotten from AAA has been so comically high that I thought it wasn’t a real business. I bought a new 08 Mazda3 at 20 years old and they wanted $7,000 a year to insure it with normal coverages.
