Yeah, no.

I grew up in one of the wealthiest counties in the US. Wealth does not look like a suit and tie rolling up in a new Bentley. It rolls up in a comfortable sweater, nice shoes and a few years old but very clean Accord.

The money flash you see in the media is not how truly wealthy people behave.

Efficiency is fuzzy, cold hard efficiency.

If you ever see an EV touting solar panels on it’s roof you immediately know it’s marketing wank not sound engineering talking.

Once you drive a (new) Lada you realize building/maintaining a used 3 series is a much better ownership experience.

Now something like a Mk3 VW? Sign me up. I’d drive updated new production Mk3 TDI Jetta for another 20 years.

This is a non article.

The value of the car has nothing , I mean ZERO, to do with what you owe on it.

Yeah, it sucks but just because you took an 84 month lease does not insure you’ll have the vehicle for the term of the note

Solar panels on EVs are a total waste of time, you’re smarter than this.

You can hand deliver the animal in a carry on bag. Courier services offer this world wide, it’s not a big deal.

What’s with the filter?

This is not instagram, seriously.

It seems like $6-8k can get you a decent one with the six. With the aftermarket these are very easy cars to own and restore.

We have multiple cars for a specific reason. If you’ve set your life up to encounter traffic (a mistake in its own right) having your DD get you to work and back on the days you can’t/don’t feeling like driving your other car(s) is perfectly reasonable.

How was there no choice in shipment method?

Straight six.

A classics classic, parts are stupid easy, I 6 versions are cheap and plenty powerful as a cruiser. Carbs are the only tricky part but FI is coming to market.

The soot is the major issue, synthetics won’t help in even a perfect OM617. The oils hit their soot load way before the oil’s properties break down. Soot is carbon black pigment, you don’t need much to color a 7 quarts of oil.

“Because I’m spending money let’s spend more money” is not sound logic.

Delo is awesome because it’s cheap. My old diesel Benz burns about as much oil as a 2 stroke. At $10-$12 a gallon it’s just what Dr.Diesel ordered.

You’re literally throwing away money.

The metallic taste is going to transfer, ugh.

Delicious, manganese with just a hint of chromium.

Bored?? You need more project cars.

A to B comparison of the new vs old T6 ZDDP content?

Rotella T6?

Don’t look for the API cert, look for the OE specification on things like transmission fluid.
