In corporate culture, many women feel the need to compete. It’s basically cool girl syndrome for grown ups. They are the roughest, toughest, most savage bitch at the conference table, and don’t you forget it.

Seriously. This bar cannot get lower unless you dig a pit.

My favorite part - at the end of her memo, she includes comments from her team’s evaluations of her as a manager.

Also:

I think that’s a great point. The show is still a little stuck on “he’s like Superman, but he’s an asshole.”

Everyone realizes that The Seven in The Boys are just supervillains, right? I mean, they are supervillains who have cloaked their villainy beneath a veneer of outward respectability, but they act, in all ways, like your basic, run of the mill supervillains.

What do you say to an adult who tells you they still love to read Rand?

“She’s a frum Donatella Versace, her platinum hair parted severely down the middle, clad in increasingly conservative floor-length dresses, with an uncanny-valley beauty that’s the inverse of her father’s slack meat sack, and speaking in the ever-huskier whisper of a phone-sex operator who went to boarding school.”

“...her whole thing is ‘My father may be tacky and horrible, but I am elegant and refined,’ “

Atlas is more of a personality test than a novel.

Seriously, she went through the correct channels literally as MeToo is happening, and he did nothing. Complete incompetence - and a hairdresser or a guest star would have been far more replaceable than she is. I liked how she and Fillion worked, I don’t have much interest in watching now, especially knowing why she

Fillion’s been coasting on the goodwill generated by the Firefly fandom for decades, it seems.

“Where the fuck is my knickers waistband resting??” has become an increasing irritation for me over the last month or so of pregnancy. I’m going to keep an eye out for some postpartum ones! (I avoid Amazon these days)

I actually can’t fathom how she spent 7 years with him after all the shit that was reported.

Afton is such a good actress and I was happy to see that she had a lead role on a network show. At this point, I should probably stop watching shows with male leads/ male-led productions because it sounds like every set is trash.

there were problems reported on the set of castle, mainly the lead actress had a issues with harassment, etc. on set. so...maybe he’s just a good actor who can plays affable characters.

So...the Showrunner got in a car, drove to set and just gave no fucks about harassment & assault. How fired can a person get? Like, she wasn’t reporting micro aggressions and vagaries, she was trying to document ongoing racial harassment and has to grapple with sexual assault.

I’ve been wondering whether it’s worth the expense & shipping to buy reusable cloth maternity pads and I’ve just realised you could dampen them in water and pop them in the freezer and wear the frozen pad between two pairs of knickers and now my 7 mo pregnant self is definitely buying some...

thank mother gaia on high for lizzo. truly.

Meh, I’m more of a Walrus and Carpenter person.
