Yes, far better than I’m capable of, frankly.
Yes, far better than I’m capable of, frankly.
You know, until reading this and some of the comments, I never thought twice about how I was able to make an appointment with my gyno, who is fantastic, for my IUD insertion and then see her and have it done two days later. For $10.
The loopholes they exercise are insane and ridiculous. Unfortunately for me, I love my doctors there more than anyone else I’ve ever seen so I still remain with them.
Yeah, I got the sense that it was pretty common to get pushback from insurance providers so they were just trying to cover their own asses. And I get that from a business perspective, and I know that healthcare is a business in the U.S., but come the fuck ON. Do the right thing as a healthcare provider, not because…
Right?? Like the whole time she’s spouting this BS I’m thinking to myself, weeeell, pretty sure you get paid either way, notwithstanding the fact that it’s NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS ANYWAY.
It’s so much cheaper for the insurance companies to do everything to get efficient birth control for their subscribers than to have to pay for all of their pregnancy related expenses. Free market efficiency at work.
“At first, she tried to counsel me otherwise, at least partially because I had just gotten married and it would “annoy her”
I should further clarify that both my insurance policy and my medical provider were owned by the same company (Kaiser Permanente) which made the entire situation even more ridiculous.
Exactly. You know how much an IUD costs in Canada? Well neither do I because we simply go to the doctor, ask for what we want, and get it for free. This situation with American women jumping through hoops is fuckin’ ridiculous; birth control should be widely and freely available in a wide variety of forms, it just…
Thank goodness you were here to discuss your boner.
Unfortunately yes. Since we have privatized healthcare what is covered is based on your health insurance policy which dictates what you can and cannot do because they may not cover everything.
Noted?
I’m 24 and fully insured. When I was 23, I tried to get an IUD from my now-fired gyno a few months back. At first, she tried to counsel me otherwise, at least partially because I had just gotten married and it would “annoy her” when I “inevitably came back in eight months” to have it removed. I said, ya know, I had…
“Riddle me this: why could I buy a gun before the weekend but my insurance asked me to wait 6 months for an IUD?”
THIS. I am *still* waiting for my IUD. I requested it back in July - have to wait until fucking September to have a vaginal exam, and then the doctor says it is going to be another few months after that until she can actually place it. I’ll be lucky if I get it by Christmas.
A woman in Tarzana, California, is raining very public social media hell upon her insurer, Anthem Blue Cross, after…
Since I was avid watcher of Hannah Montana I am not even in the slightest fooled by her costume. COME HARDER MILEY. I see that wig line bad next time get a lace front. My former disney watching days will not be mocked.
Agreed. I want more Cookie anyway (ps I would watch the shit out of a spinoff series that was just her all the time, so maybe my dream is coming true now).
God, before I even knew about all this stuff, I hated his face so fucking much and loved that he was hateable character too...because I could just hate.
Word on the street was that the role of Lucious was intended for Wesley Snipes, but Taraji really wanted Terrence Howard to play Lucious... and she got her way. I feel Mr. Snipes would have been a much better choice. Dunno if he would have been a better singer though.
