Yeah, I know Chapelle lives in Ohio. My point here and in subsequent responses is that though surprise guests and drop-ins are a thing, being in Ohio (which only matters every four years) I would not have expected there to be a drop-in. This also depends on the knowledge base of the audience, too.

When you’re right, you’re right.

Yes, Chapelle lives in Ohio where he threatened to pull his businesses if affordable housing went forward.

I’m a sad sack for using this site.

The troll numbers are pretty bad lately. I think maybe the Gamer Gate era it was pretty bad, too, with periodic spikes but this has been egregious.

Who is “you” here?

This show was in the Ohio, though, so it’s not like anyone is “in the area” and drops in as a favor or on a whim. There was apparently another opener who wasn’t very funny but his jokes were standard issue “I hate me bitch wife” stuff.

Commenting to boost.

the IST is Reproductive Justice! A known troll who keeps changing their name, for anyone who thinks they should engage.

I’ll assume you’re making these arguments in good faith

This is for information purposes

The backlash to the backlash of this has been “Well if you’re SO offended don’t go to comedy shows! The joke wasn’t even that bad!”

This whole protest is ludicrous - they’re essentially saying “War is bad” (well, duh!) whilst also calling for more war.”

I just don’t get why people are so huffy about how these people shouldn’t be protesting because “facts don’t care about your feelings” and the West is doing everything they can. “Why should this woman protest? Of course rape and war is bad!”

I guess we’re in the land of hypotheticals that if the annexation of Crimea hadn’t happened, would Ukraine have trained up their army so well? That’s part of why Russia is being walloped, apparently, because most of their troops don’t have practice in actual combat.

I understand what this woman and her group are saying, but to claim the world is looking away or not taking action simply isn’t true.

Ukraine would have needed to have applied to NATO to have been admitted. They did not.

categorically untrue, and frankly absurd, to accuse Europe or the rest of the world of “inaction”

The world has taken unprecedented steps to punish Russia but there’s still so much more to do. There’s still talk of countries buying gas in rubles; not all international businesses have pulled out of Russia. The US still hasn’t sanctioned Putin’s mistress. There was no large scale evacuation of Mariupol. Macron is

Unfortunately, I think it should be noted that men and boys are also being raped in Ukraine, though perhaps not as frequently, and will also need a lot of support in the aftermath of their assaults.
