Guys, Joker is going to appear in Arkham Knight in some form. I'm not even sure why anybody doesn't think that.
***SPOILERS*** (for 16-year-old episode of a cartoon)
I don't know, TAS Scarecrow looked pretty awesome in the final season.
I'd agree if—nah, you're just wrong. Scarecrow was one of the best parts of Arkham Asylum and looks like he's going to be amazing in AK. I'm curious how Rocksteady is going to mess with the player this time around. (maybe the entire first half of the game is a hallucination and Bats has been terrorizing innocent…
It's not about teaching your kids to respect religion. It's about teaching them to respect other people, and have the empathy to understand why they believe what they believe, and so long as they're not harming you or others, not mocking them for it.
THIS. I'm not raising my kids to hate anyone. But yeah, I'd appreciate the same respect. Because I get reminded pretty regularly that I'm doomed for eternity.
I live in Siberia.
It's stunning how many progressive social justice oriented people completely fail at intersectionality when it comes to atheism. They will recognize that we live in a society that privileges Christianity when Islamophobia or anti Semitism is discussed but they don't grasp that it effects atheists too. The stereotype…
No irony in the fact that atheist extremists are obnoxious assholes, and religious extremists are blowing people up, I suppose. But yeah, totally hate those atheist guys.
But religious people cry wolf with this too often. I think there is a huge difference between having respect for a person and having respect for their beliefs. I absolutely do not respect christian beliefs. I think their god is a horrible, vengeful, genocidal (but fictional) maniac. But because many christians view…
I'm pretty sure the article said atheists are raising kids who do the opposite of this, no?
So you've had some bad conversations. Dude, everyone has. Have you been in a work situation where you are the only non-praying person? Been asked where you attend church by a boss or a person being interviewed? You are part of the majority in the US, at least. It's very WTF-y to me to hop in here, in a conversation…
Yes, lets hoist up that fake canard to let atheists know you're still somehow better. Good job. The study shows most atheists aren't raising their children that way, but thanks for bringing it up...
It's not nice to be rude to anyone. But these comments just read very "what about the men!" to me. Here we are having a conversation about how atheists can raise wonderful kids despite being told by the religious majority that we are amoral (something people have literally told me) and someone pipes up "well just…
I guess I mostly feel like this comment is the equivalent of a "what about the men" comment (the OP's, not yours, I just would rather interact civilly with you). It's like yes, of course people should be respectful of one another. But I think the vast majority of atheists deal with substantial issues over their lack…
Never once had an atheist come pestering at my door trying to shove her beliefs down my throat.
I trust you feel the same way about parents who raise their kids to believe that non-believers and adherent of other religions are going to hell, or need to be "prayed for".
right? 'stop calling me dumb' vs 'my religion literally dictates your life'
