It s probably worth noting that guys like this are why these Broncos will be affordable pretty quickly, and why I think Ford screwed themselves long term. Apparently no one remembers the Gladiator.

To begin, I will out myself as someone else who ordered a brand new model (Maverick) after not having even seen one in person. I deserve all your derision. I haven’t even received it yet, so there is still opportunity for me to whine just like this Bronco guy. That said, I think there are several reasons why me

yep, he just doesn’t like it and is incorrectly trying to blame it on something.

I lol’d when I read “high elevations” and “Appalachia”.

Seriously.  The highest peak in West Viriginia is 4,800 feet above sea level.

Yup, and it’s likely not the weight that’s dropping his mph, but the horrendous aero.

I’m not sure what he’s complaining about here.

According to the z06 forums, you’re about 5 years about from getting one at msrp.

Not sure why he didn’t get that Truecoat....

It’s not turbo lag, that doesn’t even really exist anymore. Ford programs its truck transmissions very, very far in the direction of fuel economy, which makes them very excited about shifting up, and very reluctant to shift down. You can correct this simply by putting the transmission in sport, pushing the tow button,

Another vote for Cross Climate 2. I live in Eastern Wa (snow and heat in the summer) and I would put them on anything that didn’t need a performance tire.

Good luck affording anything bigger than a studio apartment in (coastal) Malibu on $151k/yr household income.

The one silver lining here is that most of these rigs aren’t getting used much. When the pandemic winds down, I’m looking forward to a used market full of lightly used rigs sold at saturated market prices.

I’ll look into those, thanks!

That truck was in 2wd without the diff locked. (So essentially spinning 1 wheel.) Yes snow tire would hep, many AT tires are M+S rated, and or snowflake rated, and are pretty decent in winter. I run M+S rated tires on my truck year around, and don’t run dedicated snows, it does great. Still have dedicated snow tires

It likely went into purchasing the airframe, very expensive transportation and preparation bills, and site preparation costs. Agreed, it didn’t go into the interior that’s for sure. Having spent 25 years in aerospace, I can’t think of a dirtier structure to build a home into. But hey, its Portlandia...

“Chevrolet does offer the 1500 in RWD-only spec”

In this case, it doesn’t need snow tires. Just needs to have a driver that has remedial training on these switches.

Similar has been done with a retired Boeing 727 by a man named Bruce Campbell (not that Bruce Campbell) and the end result is the stuff of dreams.

Not the first time an organization named Luft-something takes to the air to keep what may or may not be rightfully theirs.
