Played 0 and a couple of the Kiwami’s myself... and nope, didn’t help knowing what’s going on, lol. I hope they do a good recap. On the other hand, since it has a new protagonist, it might be a fresh intro to the Yakuza games in many ways.

As a not quite 40 year old myself, I strongly recommend them. I actually got hooked on Yakuza 0 and then started playing the “Kiwami” remakes of the first couple of them. Excellent games all around!
