Not necessarily, if the site was compromised the generated email itself might be poisoned. I haven’t heard of an attack happening that way, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did. On the other hand, if an attacker has gotten that far into a companie’s infrastructure, it would probably be easier to just steal the data…

Same here. Worse, the context said that I had clicked on a link in an email and gotten that warning - I assumed, apparently incorrectly, that the user was duped into clicking a link that would grant this mysterious third party access to my email. Hell no.
