Yeah, I’m in the same boat. I find it hard to justify spending more money on a console that will give me a tiny performance boost to my games that I might not even be able to notice. Having bought a 4k/hdr tv, I’m still constantly wondering if it’s actually playing anything in HDR... which lead me to realize that I

I tried this app, but it immediately started begging for mercy.

The battery life on my v2 360 was actually really good - at the end of the day it would have 60-70% left, which is all I ask for as I don’t care about taking it off at night.

Yep, the Assistant on them has a loooong way to go beyond ‘more features’ for it to be worth using. (For that matter, the fact that so many commands just plain don’t work on the watch is downright bizarre. Why exactly can’t I turn on my lights from my watch when it works fine from my mini or my phone?) “OK Google”

I thought i read somewhere that they dropped that mantra a while ago, too.

Yeah, where I am, most of the year is off the scale, and the “hot as” temps are what we call “beautiful day!”

I think I stopped playing it because everyone kept saying how awful the final 1/3 of the game is, I decided to quit while I still liked it and maybe come back to it later, after they added the cutscenes they were going to add to ‘fix’ it. I never did. It’s still staring at me every time I go in the menu.

Starbucks is all you have? You poor soul, where do you live? I can get better coffee than Starbucks at just about any local Cuban restaurant around here that’s been around since your mom was in diapers (metaphorically speaking, I have no idea how old you are, lol).

I’ve definitely been on the fence about this game for many of the same reasons, but I didn’t even play GoW3 because I was tired of Kratos by the end of the 2nd one - however this might have pushed me towards getting it.

Something that’s way too rare these days. I have friends in real life, dammit!

I still think that humans vastly overestimate how interesting we might be to an alien species that has overcome the vast technological hurdle required for interstellar travel. Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy has it mostly right when the Earth is described as “Mostly Harmless”.

Um... Are you aware of a little thing called a Wii? It had tons of this kind of thing all over it.

I had an engineer friend who enlisted my help in building a PC. He got the parts in, and instead of waiting 20 minutes for me to get there, he started putting it together himself, which is fine...

Except he jammed the CPU into the socket backwards, and the thing wouldn’t post for some reason. Took forever to diagnose,

Everything is color coded these days, too, cables can only go in the right way, and even RAM will just pop into place. It’s wonderful compared to the old days.

Yep I used to get these all the time, spam emails showing up in my inbox (wasn’t gmail though) saying that I had sent them.

Little known fact:
it’s because of humans that the term Genocide was coined. It’s true, it wasn’t a word before humans.

I would also love a solution for processes that can’t be killed. It’s only been a thing since windows 7, but man, since they changed it so that admin accounts aren’t really admin accounts anymore, every now and then I run into a process that has crashed, but can’t be killed by any method (command line, task manager,

Cygwin would do the trick too. I’ve been a longtime fan, especially at work where I’m forced into a windows environment but work with a ton of *nix boxes.

I mean... at least you’re not still pushing around a vacuum yourself... right?

No, you’re right, having it run when I’m not home is easily my favorite feature - I used to have one of the units that didn’t have scheduling and while it was nice to have around, starting it manually definitely made it vacuum less.

Oh man, Witcher 3. It’s one thing when it’s the lore pages, another when it’s everything. The menu’s, on screen text... all of it. I’m so glad they eventually patched it. For a long time, I used to turn down the resolution to 720p to get it just a bit bigger and eventually just started playing it via remote play on my
