We can only hope the trial goes the way of the murders of Ahmaud Arbery. Clearly a hate crime with the documented racial slurs. Then again, this is the south, where cr*ckers like her are a dime a dozen.

What’s worse is the police who arrested him probably gave him a pat on the back and some pro-life dickwad will fund his defense.
I have friends who pay a “red state tax” (in the form of a donation to their choice of pro-choice organization) whenever they have to visit a state with draconian abortion laws.
I hoping that the kids are smart enough to see through this bullsh** and vote against them when they turn 18. I might be overly optimistic, though.
You’re right - I messed up my wording. I meant to say her appointed replacement would be likely be blocked, as evidenced by the Rs not allowing someone to take her place on the judiciary committee temporarily. And even if she resigns, it’s likely those fuckwits will still manage to block someone else:
I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I heard on The Daily that even if she does resign, there’s no guarantee that there will be a special election to replace her. Knowing the the Rs and their petty, hypocritical ways, they’ll find any and all means to block it from happening.
“And all of this comes after the Jan. 6 insurrection saw Trump supporters storm the Capitol, actively seeking top Democratic lawmakers to attack...”
It’s a close competition among the deep south states for being the self-righteous “Christian” hypocrites. At first I thought Texas was way ahead, but Lousiana and Alabama have really stepped up their game.
My concern is that the mini pill has a much smaller margin for error - you basically have to take it at the same time each day in order for it to be most effective. Still, I’d pick this over nothing at all.
Not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I wouldn’t discount blackmail. No one goes from codifying Roe v Wade to outright ban in less than a year for no reason.
God forbid we have women and brown people voicing their opinion! It’s not natural! /s
It’s Texas. They do not give a shit about anyone who isn’t a white male.
Something similar happened to me in a packed Costco lot. The car facing mine had just left, so there was an empty spot there. As I got in the car, another car pulled up behind mine, waiting for my space.
It’s the people who have no other hobbies than watching Fox News and reading InfoWars that get brainwashed into thinking this. Until someone guns down a bunch of Republican legislators, nothing will change.
I can’t even anymore. Between the transphobics, the gun nuts, COVID deniers, anti-abortion whackjobs and generally anyone who votes Republican has made me lose all faith in humanity. It’s gone.
“... I’d rather risk them thinking I used to be a raging alcoholic who had to quit versus someone who just didn’t like to drink. That’s some entrenched thinking about the role of alcohol and how it plays into our identities.”
And [purposely] getting pregnant to delay trial(s) and prison sentences...
This or she’s being blackmailed.
Guess I’ll have to tell my 77 year old dad, who skis 3-4 times a week, that he’s no longer allowed on the slopes! Never mind that he’s a former ski instructor and can probably kick your sad ass any day of the week.
People are assholes, rich people who ski are even bigger assholes beacause they think they’re good skiers (they’re not) and are straight-lining down the mountain unable to turn.
