Those smoke bombs look past their expiration date. I wouldn’t use the fire suppression system either without an overhaul. I dunno about vehicle armour, but Kevlar vests don’t have an unlimited shelf life. Most safety equipment has a limited window of effectiveness before it needs to be overhauled or outright

Unless you know them personally, all I know about them is that they have a >$200k spare car north of the Hollywood Hills with a mansion attached to the their garage. I saw nothing about kids art projects, pets, nor other irreplaceable mementos (like that GT350).

Sure, I’ll set the line lock and warm up the back tires right in front of the showroom before the test drive. Because thoroughness.

Well, at least the neighbor didn’t pet his wife, drink his pool and have sex with his dog.

Im trying to keep up too man

Which is why they are modeling Spanx.

I know “cisgender” is now considered a thing.

I’m not sure how to take this. “Proceeding with life” would mean that, to a rational employer/manager, taking action to ensure that this doesn’t happen under their watch again, whether that be with a current or future employee.

Example: I took my beater to a quick oil change joint down the street this summer

Patzkowsky told me that the routinely road test every car before it goes back to the customer, which seems reasonable, but for the high speed part he told me that sometimes they need to “warm up the tires to make it ride smooth,” which I’m not so sure I buy.

I would assume the goal is to shame the dealership, which they rightfully deserve. If I lived in this town and was so inclined to buy a Chevy locally rather than shopping around, I surely would not give them my business after seeing this.

and the leaving of a Tupperware container with some lunch remains in the car:

Nah, they aren’t bad so long as you flush the transmission every few years and change the oil religiously. I’ve had an 05 XC90 for 3 years and 60,000 miles and it’s been fine. All of the wear items are in-line with other manufacturers. You want the one with the 2.5T motor though. Early XC’s with the T6 had

You were going to make the joke, so you made the joke.

Andrew! Hope you are doing well. Buy an XC90 or something. Comfortable, refined, and capable. Maintenance runs on the pricey side, but if you aren’t driving too often that doesn’t matter much.

I have a similar vintage sports car with 230K miles and less wear than that.

So did the owner of this thing just get in and out of the drivers seat and sit there and pretend? Because with only 26k on the clock, there shouldn’t be that much damn wear on the seat.

Last week on BaT it was RNM for $38k. Frankly that was generous. This is at best a $30k car.

The Chevette was an utterly unredeemable shitbox from an age where US carmakers not only didn’t want to build good small cars, they actively punished you for buying one. Buying anything smaller than a Fox-body was an insult to the big 3 and you paid for that sin. People who never experienced that just can’t conceive

I owned an ‘82 Coupe (the FWD non-turbo version of this), and agree with you - it looks like it should be a liftback. That said, it did have a good amount of trunk space.

He must’ve gotten one of the good ones. And that should tell you something.
