I’m orthodox, so I observe Pancake day in April. It’s a solemn day to reflect on the teachings of Johnny Cakes and his apostles (the Short Stacks). Whoever has been naughty that year has to eat the first pancake off the griddle. The one that comes out all weird and undercooked.
I usually head for the back just to minimize the possibility of door dings. Although it doesn’t matter anyway, as I can be the only car within a 5 block radius when I park, when I come back there’s inevitably someone parked right next to me.
I hate everyone in this story except for the dog and the camel.
One of these. It’s literally bigger than many houses.
Just because you’re poor doesn’t make you correct.
I agree that only taxpayers can afford pensions for employees and that has been the case for 2o years. When they complain about paying 3% of the health premiums they truly sound like toddlers to the rest of the middle class. I pay 15+ percent and I work for a very large unionized company.

Breaking Bad if Walter White was Canadian:
Insurance literally is a pool of money for the possibility of something hedged against that thing actually happening. You already are funding other people’s insurance, and my salary, and the CEO’s multi-million dollar bonuses.
They see them as hard-won benefits that help make up for the wage concessions and jobs given up over a decade ago when GM and Chrysler went bankrupt and Ford went through wrenching restructuring.
As a worker for the world’s largest insurance company I’ve got to say we’re stealing your money and you can’t do a thing about it. Our bottom line is funded by the government and your paycheck. You’re a fool and cannot change a damn thing.
Everybody here loves punching down.
It’s the greatest con ever concocted by the powerful. Take 19 cookies and convince the the other two that one of them tries to take the 20th, then letting them fight it out.
It truly is baffling.
Why don’t they reboot cable so it contains all these streaming services.
