In a better world, Nintendo wouldn't have bothered releasing Dragon Warrior 1 to the NES, and instead started their push for JRPGs into the US with newer games that built on Dragon Quests framework and added polish.

The slot machine-esque pull of that 18/00 is just irresistible.

AND THAT'S WHY YOU'LL NEVER BE A CARTOON RAT SHULKIE!

If a publication doesn't respect review embargoes at least enough to pull a film review mistakenly posted early, whatever that film's quality, I'd imaging they don't get invited to review screenings.

I'm sure this happened to lots of people but upon seeing Hidden Figures, the preview for this film immediately followed the preview for Gifted, another, less obviously stupid, bland white man WHO LOVES HIS DAUGHTER receives sage advice from Octavia Spencer film.

Harsh and technically falseā€¦

A while back, Marah Eakin posted a HateSong with "comedian" Big Jay Oakerson, that included Oakerson making some pretty vile and racist jokes.

That requires a lot more effort for equal numbers of clicks.

I have to say, while I'm pleased to read this, this did not strike my as in any way out of line with the values of the A.V. Club's more clickbait-y material in the Newswires and GJI.

So what percentage of people in their 20s are aware of Bill Cosby anyways? I mean, Bill Cosby was last culturally relevant as something other than a rapist in 1992.

There's something really tragic to me in the fact that his contrarian nonsense about Get Out relies on saying "Remember how I said I liked terrible Eddie Murphy movies ten years ago? Wasn't that funny? You guys? Remember? Is anyone still reading this?"

Except for those of us who are horses. It sounds like they hate you.

Are we considering Collins' "Stealing Large Amounts of Money" to be art? Because it's pretty accomplished.

I mean, to be fair, Baseball's HoF was conceived as a cheap ploy to lure more visitors to Cooperstown New York, and has exceeded all expectations.

I largely agree, with the caveat that it SEEMS lazy in comparison to the brief forays into 2D animation, which are absolutely gorgeous.

Yes. With the extra horrifying caveat that it was from my father.

That's fair- it may be that I'm identifying less "Stephen Schwartz trying to ape Disney", and more "Stephen Schwartz does the thing that annoys my in all his shows."

No need to fear revisiting Emperor's New Groove- it's exactly what you remember it as being.

This is the reason I say "I remember liking Antz more than A Bug's Life at the time" rather than "Antz is a great movie."

I think the Hunchback comparison is spot on. And both films are at their weakest when they are trying to bring in trappings from the Disney Reconnaissance- the comic priests, the comic gargoyles. Basically the comedy in general.
