When I’ve taken people to IndyCar races, I always tell them it’s partially about the racing, but it has a LOT to do with the sounds. It’s sensory experience. Having 33 cars coming at you at full-song at 225 mph is incredible. When you remove the sound, you remove one of the biggest sensory experiences racing offers.…
For a lot of people, EVs just don’t work right now if you don’t live in a city. I recently bought a new Mazda 3 Turbo hatch to daily drive and use my Macan GTS as a weekender. There is nowhere in town to charge an EV outside of 2 slow chargers downtown and places of work don’t have chargers. I have an old house, so…
I have a 3 hatch in Soul Red. About a month after having it, a piece of the interstate came apart driving over a bridge transition in Alabama and it dented the fender from the INSIDE. It was repainted and it matches perfectly. I was extremely worried since your comment was something I had read prior to buying it. I…
I bought a hatch turbo a couple months ago. Frankly, with all the electronic driver doo-dads, I never notice the “visibility issue” people talk about. I absolutely love it.
Mazda3 Hatchback Turbo specifically in Soul Red. It has a sleek, cool design. It’s quick without being boy racer. It has the nicest interior in its class. It also doesn’t have the “oh you made middle manager and bought a BMW/Lexus/Audi” thing with it. The cool kids know...
I’m 37 and have a Macan GTS that I bought a few years ago pre-owned. Buying one new, even pre-pandemic, wasn’t an option. It is DEFINITELY not an option now. On the ICE topic, I live in a rural area where there is essentially zero charging infrastructure around...2 slow chargers downtown that are occupied by tourists.…
I really enjoy taking AMTRAK when I can. It stops in my small town and I can go to New Orleans, Birmingham, or Atlanta within the day very easily. It’s comfy and cheaper than driving and paying for parking. The main problem is that it’s slow. There are times where you get completely stopped because of freight traffic…
Colors. The absolute lack of colors...which this is a complaint with most vehicles these days. I was looking for a new daily driver and had been interested in a Santa Cruz, but it comes in 6 colors...2 greys, black, white, a slate blue (which is basically grey), and a sand color. Small trucks were always more fun and…
This was my absolute favorite as a kid outside of the McLaren F1. I watched the reel on it on Need For Speed 2 endlessly. It’s gorgeous in a very unique way, quirky, and timeless.
I literally laughed out loud in the office.
It’s, what, a 10+ year old design? But, it looks just as gorgeous and fresh as it did 10 years ago.
The 22B is still one of the sexiest cars of that time period to me. It seemed busy at the time, but looking back it was a really slick car compared to the new variants.
First is color. If it doesn’t come in red or some loud color I won’t even consider it. Another thing is...are the wheel options ugly? I find a lot of wheels way too busy, or ugly, or frumpy. I also like knobs. Have you tried to punch a knob-less touch screen on a bumpy road? You’re trying to adjust the AC and you’ve…
A lot of folks are hitting on what amounts to the same theme: Cadillac used to make land yachts. Then it made terrible land yachts. People stopped buying. Then they have tried to be German, but the original appeal in a Cadillac never was that it was “dynamic” and “sporty.” So when people went to checkout the new…
Don’t forget everyone, the Aerotech inspired the next generation of Oldsmobile design. Most folks don’t realize it. Look at the first gen Aurora and the shape and overall form are very similar to the various Aerotech versions. That then flowed to the Intrigue and Alero.
This is about like not watering a plant or giving it any sunlight for weeks at a time, then giving it a day outside, and shoving it back in a closet. You can’t be surprised when it dies after all the neglect. I’m always puzzled when automakers (or really anyone or anything) give a half-baked effort and are surprised…
Since this is a grainy photo, I won’t comment on that. However...
