How about the Grand Prix and Monte Carlo Aero Coupes? Sure they are uglier than their less aerodynamic siblings, but they are certainly more rare. Not to mention the fact that GM made these cars just to be more competitive in stock car racing makes them cool.
If I had a '69 RS, I would try to find a way to disconnect the headlight door to illuminate them as parking lights like you said. I guess I would just have to drive on well lit streets after dark.
The covers rotated inward into the grille and exposed the whole headlight. Would have looked sweet if they did just shine through the cover.
