Inlay work in a car would look fantastic, as long as the adhesives could withstand the heat. I’m partial to abalone myself.

A friend of mine is a professional violinist. He used to live in the hood. His most valuable possession by far was his violin, worth around $100K. You know, it is kind of surprising that you don’t see much joinery or inlay work in any fancy car. It is just veneer shaping and carved panels, when they could be doing so much more to make the wood interiors works of art in themselves. I like these ideas!

Oddly enough, carbon fiber makes for a nice sounding stringed instrument. It doesn’t quite have the warmth of wood, but it does sound good. A benefit to carbon fiber is that it isn’t subject to heat and humidity, so the instruments don’t have to be tuned as often.

Flame maple is good but have you seen spalted maple? That shit’s super dynamic and would look amazing in a car.
