Meh. I go to these conventions for the marketplace and artist’s alley and also trying to get exclusive items.  Waiting in line to get into these presentations were never something I wanted to do.

Gee, you might have to talk about comic books. Nah, it’ll never catch on.

The only game I’ve pirated in the last 10 years is Metroid Dread. Then I bought it even though I don’t own a Switch. Their are conscientious users out there.

Yeah, as an indie creator who has had his stuff pirated in numbers far exceeding sales, I’m not really grateful for the “exposure.” Anybody offering “exposure” is full of shit in any context. A man’s gotta eat.

It’s the lowest effort version of the good old “Consider it a tax on ‘Intellectual Property’”. I ‘member signing out games from my local library. Age of Empires slapped so hard!

I just wish that demos and shareware or even renting a game were still a ‘thing’. That’s my big problem, especially on the PC. Lots of people had ALL KINDS of problems with Cyberpunk2077. However, lots of people on PC, kinda didn’t. Myself included. But knowing that lots of people had issues, there’s no way to find

I’m pro-emulation and always frustrated when resources are taken offline for older consoles and games. For brazenly discussing emulation of a major Nintendo game weeks before it released? I’m amazed they lasted past the leak’s first day. Nobody can be surprised about this.

Weren’t most of the best episodes of Black Mirror ultimately about the potential corruptibility of humankind? I’m not complaining. That just doesn’t seem like a new take. That’s seemed like a theme of just about every episode with perhaps the exception of San Junipero and Hang the DJ which are still more about people

Blame the consumer for not supporting overprice capitalism. good on gen z for not blowing their money on overpriced poison.

How about concerts are too expensive and people who go to them don’t want to spend money on overpriced refreshments?

I’m kinda proud of Gen Z for this one. I don’t want live performance venues to suffer, but I also want people to make healthy choices.

I don’t fully disagree with you; basically telling folks you can bypass their advertising to get the content on a free site eventually turns into a problem, thanks to capitalism and a long running arms race involving ads and adblockers.

This is the sort of thing I’ve been wondering about for a long time. The APIs that these third-party apps use are just, effectively, Web interfaces (usually something like SOAP or REST). So any time you open a forum in an app, you’re hitting up the site with dozens, if not hundreds, of Web requests.

I used to like this guy so much. Dawn of the Dead is one of the best zombie films ever made, and I liked what he did with The Watchmen well enough. But in the last 10 years, the way he’s enabled his massively toxic fan base has left an equally massively sour taste in my mouth.

NGL - whenever I hear of a friend or acquaintance getting a purebred dog through a breeder (don’t know anyone getting dogs through pet stores unless it’s an adoption event) my eyebrow raises. Genuinely, what are you doing? But the allergy argument is pretty compelling and just about the only one that doesn’t leave me

Because they’re scared of his army of crazy-eyed Great Value Rambos

I’ve no doubt the situation was terrible, but I bet the reason they wanted to “cut his dick off and shove it down his throat” had more to do with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje asking to be written off the show and messing up their plans for the character than his race.

With Jimmy James right behind ...

As if I didn’t already distrust most digital images, now reality has just fucked off. When a child can fake images how can we trust anything digital that we see?

this is kind of a bootlicker take. HBO Max didn’t have an easy start but eventually offered more quality content than nearly any other streaming platform. And that would have been without the HBO Max originals like the Flight Attendant which were better than they should have been...with Showtime’s mostly boring
