I don’t fully disagree with you; basically telling folks you can bypass their advertising to get the content on a free site eventually turns into a problem, thanks to capitalism and a long running arms race involving ads and adblockers.

This is the sort of thing I’ve been wondering about for a long time. The APIs that these third-party apps use are just, effectively, Web interfaces (usually something like SOAP or REST). So any time you open a forum in an app, you’re hitting up the site with dozens, if not hundreds, of Web requests.

I used to like this guy so much. Dawn of the Dead is one of the best zombie films ever made, and I liked what he did with The Watchmen well enough. But in the last 10 years, the way he’s enabled his massively toxic fan base has left an equally massively sour taste in my mouth.

I’ve no doubt the situation was terrible, but I bet the reason they wanted to “cut his dick off and shove it down his throat” had more to do with Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje asking to be written off the show and messing up their plans for the character than his race.

this is kind of a bootlicker take. HBO Max didn’t have an easy start but eventually offered more quality content than nearly any other streaming platform. And that would have been without the HBO Max originals like the Flight Attendant which were better than they should have been...with Showtime’s mostly boring…

The response to these talks and most of the comments here are tone-deaf. It’s not 2018 anymore. There are no exceptions for generalizations, slurs, hatred and bigotry.

Leave them alone but we’ll still follow their every move and write about it daily. Just leave them alone and let them be happy or miserable or whatever the hell they want to. 

Surprised about the lack of AI stuff. I expect they’ll have at least one “artificial general intelligence (AGI) doomsday” episode in the next season or two, as the concept becomes more mainstream. (“Metalhead” sorta counts as AI doom, but not AGI doom.)

Looking through the past seasons episode lists and have to ask:

The history of company towns in the US relied on the company controlling:

1) Transportation
2) Goods and services flowing into the town

Okay, maybe you missed the point.

5 houses in a city of 87,000 a company town does not make.

Calling 5 houses “an entire neighborhood” is a bit of a stretch, no?

Five houses for only $2 million total? North Carolina is super cheap.
