I’m normally in the camp that anyone trying to start a new social media too similar to an existing service would fail. Like starting “It’s twitter, but for X” might make enough to keep going. It would never grow to anything notable. On that note, makes sense that Elon would buy twitter as opposed to trying to make

I used to attend an event called Creative Mornings. It was intended to bring in designers to talk about design. So I was looking to improve my skills and I made a point to attend when I could.

Dispite gripes from people online, and countless “What you need to know before” videos, I honestly think Marvel does a pretty good job of making movies and TV sows that you can walk into knowing nothing and have a good time. May not get the deeper layers others get, but you are going to understand and enjoy the movie.

I’m in a similar boat where my genderqueer ass keeps their head down hoping to not attract attention so I don’t get killed or threatened or etc etc.

I used to agree with Dave being thoughtful, but I feel like he’s been out of touch for years.

Now playing

It feels like all the white people who tell black people to shut up because racism is over. Dave and Ye are acting like since some Jewsih people are powerful, that there is no real anti semitism. Someone defaced Jewish graves with Swastikas, yesterday!

I was sure, I’d keep peeking in on twitter because it is a good wa to get a snap shot of the ‘world’. But there are already several things that are not working right. It’s not me leaving in protest. It’s a bad user experience, and I don’t want to go there.

that occured to me a well while writing. That he could be so out of touch that he has to specifically travel and find the last blockbuster, so he could work there like his idol.

It’s not that “kids today” haven’t heard of Tarantino. But the joke doesn’t work for a 20 year old because the only way a teenaged Tarantino had to get a film education was to work a Video Store (same for Kevin Smith and others).
But a teenager or 20 year old today has access to so many more movies, and movie

I kind of agree. That is a great moment for a show like this. It’s not laugh out loud, but shows this odd moment you wouldn’t have expected. It has a lot of thuth in it.

Watching the trailer, that seemed like a large cast of employees for a video store in 2022. Ultimately the concept feels more like it should be some ultra low budget, scrappy show with a cast of 4 or so, with rotating and recurring additional cast members....and I now realize I’m just going to be describing Always

That is kind where I am with the negativity. I was already losing interest without a personal product to promote. The negativity has really increased over the last days, to where I’m considering just not going to the site for a while, or deleting the app from my phone.

Professionally as a marketer, Twitter is dead. We still post there, but we know we won’t get any response.

I had very few complaints with this season. It was a lot of fun.

I’d be fine with them moving up, and Lower Decks starts to refer to the California Class ships as the B or C team of Starfleet.

Out of curiousity, how long do you normally wait between sending an email for comment and hitting “Publish” on the article?

I hope she sues.

Idealy the answer is nothing. It’s cool to be familar, but we really don’t need to know anything about these characters before the movie. It’s the movie’s job to tell me who these characters are and why I should care.

Velma was already be depicted as, and performed by, a woman of color multiple times. She was hispanic in Scoob, and Asian in a couple live action movies. It’s not really anything new that she’s Indian.

I’m not crazy about the shape of that in my pocket. I do have a Gerber shard on my keychain, I figure in a pinch it could open a can, but I haven’t tried it yet.
