Why would I buy a ticket to support a person that clearly doesn’t think I should exist?

Like “I’m on Team TERF” is not a set up or a punchline. It’s just a statement. Statement that gets applause.

I got to the third word and sighed.

I know a lot of comedy has evolved to mostly just story telling, but a lot of the trans section of the routine are not jokes. Like if it wasn’t Dave, and just someone talking to you with the same words, I don’t know how you could think that what is being said in this section of the special are jokes. It’s very clearly

That insert reads like the facebook posts my mom gets. Then she tells me about how thieves are hiding under my car waiting to slash my ankles and rape me.

yes, there is toxic femininity. A lot of it.

I guess I don’t understand why someone would roll coal on someone on a bike. Are they worried the bike person is going to help the environment or is too healthy? I don’t get the ‘joke’ the driver is trying to make.

There is probably never a good way of asking this, but I’m curious and not sure where to start a google search.

Where is the difference between improving the economic growth of an idea and gentrification? Is there one?

Why would Zootopia and Wreck-It Ralph be Pixar movies?
Where they developed there first and given to Disney?

This was the part where I was lost my suspension of disbelief.

Which is honestly a weird choice of WB to release it the day before Falcon & Bucky. The discourse is going to get overshadowed. They could have owned the week by moving earlier to go between Wanda and Falcon. Blamed it on the leak and just release it.

Playing armchair investigator and buffy fan, all the accusations kind of track in my opinion. A lot of the things he’s be accused of saying and doing, he’s said and joked about in dvd commentaries over the years, but in more of a joking tone.

I think there is a big difference to presenting something that has a relatively small percentage of offensive material in relationship to the total content with a disclaimer, vs something that is almost entirely offensive.

No disclaimer would make releasing a large piece of media that is mostly offensive commercially

I’m over 40 and trans. I can not just ignore this.

You don’t pick a photo of Swift in font of a CATS banner if you want this audience to take her suggestions remotely seriously.

I get the impulse to want to be someone else. Take the challenge. But honestly. It’s not helpful. I’d rather they not make a movie than have a cis star play a trans person.

Yeah, that’s worse. That’s way worse.

There are countless examples of movies with no name stars in the leads and they come in and crush it financially. Parasite. 1917. Star Wars. Halloween. El Mariachi. Seriously, it’s an infinite list. You don’t need them.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Been there. Done that.
