Morons on twitter and elsewhere have also been sharing this picture of ‘ford’ standing with Bill Clinton to prove she’s a dem operative, not realizing that this is actually Kirsten Gillibrand. I don't get how someone can be dumb enough to make that mistake but smart enough to operate a computer to post it.

“Brett was a sexy 17-year old, so he would only rape sexy 15-year olds,” said the GOP chairman.

I’m sure it’s because those Republican leaders believe that women will forget all about this debacle come midterms, what with their brains being smaller than normal and suffused with hormones that leave them prone to hysteria and “the vapours.”

Yup, there are dozens of people who wanted to be interviewed by the FBI who could back up the stories of women’s allegations against Kavanaugh but they weren’t interviewed. This wasn’t an investigation, it was the teeny tiniest attempt at showing that they had a cursory look at his history. The Ronan Farrow and Jane

Of course it was a sham. We knew that as soon as they declined to interview Ford or Kavanaugh themselves.

Right?! These Republicans must have a pretty low opinion of men if they assume that all of you have sexually assaulted someone at least once.

The thing is as a teenager I was drunk at a lot of parties and yet a friend and I never held down a girl and covered her mouth to keep her from screaming. Strange...

Was just going to say this. Let’s go ahead and agree to teach boys to treat girls as human beings, teach them consent. When we have a group of men who have grown up believing that they can’t just try and shove their dick in anything they want, then they can try being on the supreme court again. I’m fine with 20-30

“If that’s the new standard, no man will ever qualify for the Supreme Court again.”

Someone posted a tweet “Conservative women saying that “if that’s assault, then all women have been assaulted!” are sooo close.” But I can’t find the tweet again.

I don’t think even ‘everyone’ leaving would make much difference. They’re cratering in the US and Europe and it hasn’t affected them much. They CAN’T really address it because they’re all involved with the abuse or the coverups.

My mom stopped attending Catholic Mass after more and more sexual abuse cases were exposed.

This happens so often, especially within households. Nobody has the guts to get on the wrong side of an “important” male.

The people who would lose their jobs or be disgraced deserve to lose their jobs or be disgraced. Burn it all down.

I honestly think that the failure of everyone to protect is worse. I was progressing well dealing with memories of abuse but completely lost it when I realized no one in my family believed me/cared.

Honestly I think society would be much healthier and stronger if we did that. We have a tendency of over exaggerating the impact on men whose crimes are exposed, while at the same understating the impact on their victims for allowing the abuse to go unchecked.

According to what I’ve read so far, the teacher and at least one police transcript indicated that what happened isn’t legally defined as abuse under state law (and I truly believe he KNEW this), yes? I’ll look these up again since it was late at night, but I got the impression that more than one person did want to

That teacher was a mandated reporter and should have reported it directly to the police or child protective services.  A note to the principal does not meet that legal obligation and at minimum he should be fined and have his license suspended.
