I loved Angel's fifth season, which was infinitely better than Wonder Woman. Whedon is an asshole who deserves criticism for some of the disgusting choices he has made as a self-identified "feminist" as well as in general, but he's done things that are far superior to this typical fish-out-of-water superhero film.

Is this comment a joke?

Right? What does that comment even have to do with acting? Being in the military doesn't mean you can act. lol.

Gal Gadot is charismatic onscreen, but she cannot act. She has two facial expressions and one of them is her eyebrows acting. I can't even count how many times she does that furrowed brow even when she is supposed to be distraught by Steve's death.

Well, in the third act of the film, Steve Trevor is far more heroic than Wonder Woman.

Steve was only written well as a love interest because he is a man and therefore was "worthy" of good writing. He isn't the answer to anything. They don't write female love interests like they write him because of, yes, sexism. I doubt they will write female love interests any better going forward.

Wonder Woman is literally depicted as a male fantasy since her conception. She fights in skimpy clothes with pageant hair (like that of a Miss Universe). Her makeup is always perfect. Of course there will be focus on her beauty.

Friendship worked great in Mad Max: Fury Road. Perhaps they could have been more … in another film … in another time, but it was more believable that characters going through such a traumatic situation were only friends, developing trust so that they could get each other through it. No time to bang or even fall in

You actually make a good point that people ignore because they are in love with this film. Father figures are always important in superhero films. Yet Diana does not have a developed relationship with any of the women in this film. The relationship with her mother and aunt were shallow in comparison to that of her

My main issue is that Diana and the Amazons just seem stupid to me. They have lived thousands of years, know multiple languages and cultures but are ignorant of mankind history, ADVANCEMENT IN TECHNOLOGY, etc? They are warriors but have no interest in the weapons mankind has developed? Seriously? They literally go to

Yep.

Joss Whedon deserves the criticism.

I didn't find the Amazons interesting either. I'm interested in love, but I like to watch it Gone with the Wind style. I wasn't that invested in Diana and Steve. Hot girl meets hot guy. They are both amazing and would be perfect for minor flaws. They bang. One dies. One becomes motivated by the death. Meh. Love is

I will never watch BvS again. Truly an awful film.

She's barely in the film. In fact, all of the female characters are one-dimensional except for Diana. Even Diana is a thin character who is brought to life by Gal Gadot's charm, but that is an issue for almost all superhero films.

I don't appreciate it because I don't think it's great.

Steve Trevor was written as if he were a modern day man and not plagued with the rampant sexism that existed in those times.

I found this film to be mediocre in every aspect with the exception of the charismatic actors, but this criticism does not make sense.

Gal Gadot cannot act. She is the female equivalent of The Rock. Charming and charismatic as the action lead but is not actually a talented actor. One of the most annoying things about the film for me was her "eyebrow acting" - you know the furrowed brow she had every other minute.

She is a thin model.
