As someone who has developed fairly advanced game hacking frameworks, complete with integrated disassemblers, lots of manual hooks written in assembly, and blazing fast IPC protocols for moving buckets of data between processes, I can say it’s mainly done for one reason: because we can.

My current keyboard is a steelseries apex m500 (cherry mx reds), modded with o-rings. super quiet, great for gaming, and now great for typing too. i bottom out with reds, so now there’s less travel and less noise and it’s the perfect keyboard for coding and gaming.
