I already don’t play sports sims, this digs that hole much much deeper. This just reads like paid Free-to-Play(start), which is awful. And yes if any other type of game (that I enjoy playing) was this egregious when it comes to transactions, I’d think twice about dipping.

comparing Mobile to Switch makes no sense, since most phones have data access, and zero Switches do. I’m not saying I like Mario Run’s online only, but at least theres a logic, where there wouldn’t be one for Switch.

Mario + Rabbits is a Ubisoft published game, and how is starlink a Live service game? The toys to life part is totally optional, but would that make it live service?

It’s still up in the air, but also doubtful, although I agree they need some way to back up saves for free, even though I prefer the cloud saves, because it means I don’t have to think about it, so for me it’s worth the $20.

Since the Switch is a portable console as well it would make little sense for them to be online only, however I’m not 100% sure Nintendo has mentioned more than that they will now have some form of online play.

They said it will not be needed for free to play games, so it won't affect fortnite in the slightest

Typo or wishful thinking, but it’s “low rent” sequel was for the DS. I’m sure if Capcom wanted, they could have re-released the original on 3DS.

That’s def the PS4 version as I have the imported ASIA version for PS4, I know the Switch lineup is somewhat different, getting MOANA, Jump up Superstar, songs from Kirby and Splatoon, from Yo-kai Watch etc... although some of those you listed may be on the Switch version as well.

Semantics, a developer is “porting” but the game once released is not referred to as a port. No publisher/developer promotes games in the way you describe. Thus when games journalism/game enthusiasts refer to ports it’s usually a previously released game being moved to a new platform.
