Shut up, shut up, shut up!

An insult that would have died twenty years ago if Trump wasn't so thin skinned.

The entirety of Trump's world view can be explained by the metaphorical dick measuring contest. Every word he has said and choice he has made has been about proving to the world that he has a big dick.

No jerkiness inferred.

Thawarting friendly extremists may not affect the behavior of enemy extremists, but placating your friendly extremists shifts their demands into the mainstream. By allowing the settlements to continue, moderates are setting precedents and giving hardliners a physical constituency.

I would have thought he'd sell Met Life.

Among other things, Israel was a key cold war intelligence stop off. Jews who defected from the USSR often defected to lsrael.

Repentance isn't really about making me feel better or worse, It's about changing my mindset and behavior. Christian repentance is more than saying "Sorry;" it is turning from the path you were on to a different, more holy path, and that path should not be a mystical state of being. It should be manifest in your

That's always a good idea, and I do volunteer work. But that isn't the same thing as repentance. I really feel like, as a religion, we have to openly and loudly say that this is a wrong that we have committed and seek forgiveness. Things like volunteering are great, but they are the equivalent of
throwing one

You are absolutely right that the people who voted for Trump are not good people. No one is a good person. That's the whole fracking point of Christianity. Without the intervention of Christ's sacrifice, we are all going to hell because we are fundamentally unable to be good.

That's exactly how he did it.

Go, Green go. :-)

The public vs. private issue is where I come down, legally. There is no good way to adjudicate what is and is not a religious sacrament. The basic premise of a tolerant society is that if you are in society (which commerce is) then you must be open to all comers. Chik-fil-a seems to be riding this line fairly well

"I pity the fool who strikes the rock. He will never see the Promised Land."

The tax breaks also encourage churches to over invest in real estate/building upgrades which is part of the mega-church phenomenon.

Pro Publica on pipeline safety:

Is it an easement or a transfer? If the company owns the land, they own it unless the sale had a contingency in its contract. If it's an easement, then I wouldn't book that income just yet.

This is by no means a black and white issue. As long as I drive a car, I'm complicit in the extraction and transportation of oil.

Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!
