So are the leads in this actually good?

I am really fond of William Gibson talking about how September 11th destabilized our idea of our cultural future as a nation.

As soon as I realized people wanted to use the attacks as motivation to go into a country with very little planning, and how that country had resources we needed, I realized focusing on OBL was completely wrongheaded.

The one I always remember is Bryan Cranston's wifes head exploding in "Drive"

jesus, you sure that wasn't Final Destination?

I've heard about this, it sounds awesome.

Aw, I thought I recognize Abigail Hobbs. But is it just me or was her death the most inexplicable part of the episode? I mean, did Goldman seek her out and kill her? Why didn't we get a scene of that instead of just dropping the information on us?

Man, I was considering watching this a couple weeks ago but worried it would be exactly what I thought it was.
So instead I'm watching House of Cards.

Mia Waskiowska?

I have a image marcro the compounds all the strengths and weaknesses of it pretty comprehensively. My favorite is:

Did this actually happen?

The Stars My Destination?

Is that line about Monica Bellucci REAL? Did some screenwriter ACTUALLY think that was clever and not missing the point of the IRREVERSIBLE?

Curious that no one is talking about Brie Larson being up for best actress in Room considering her role is one of the most harrowing and distressing I can imagine. It'd be like if Krysten Ritter was up for an Oscar for playing Jessica Jones…

Makes me wonder how it would have been if Drew Goddard of Cabin in the Woods had directed like planned.

"Earned It" is so incredibly dull, but then you see the video and it's like "ohhh"

If Argo can win for best picture based on how it made them feel, why not Mad Max?

He did a good job playing someone on the spectrum, we don't see many non white actors doing that.

Stupidity and racism are similar, but one is about the larger picture, which The Academy fully is.

Similar to misogyny, you don't have to actively "hate" women, but not caring about their issues and dismissing them supports an institution of misogyny.
