It sounds silly but unfortunately it's true, there are many, many writers who cannot write women for shit, and a huge majority of those have troubles thinking of women as anything other than a different species of the default male (sometimes white and heterosexual)

The second one, unfortunately idiot writers exists, and mildy competent writers who just seem unable to think of women as people exist :(
