And it's that mentality that's bred an entire generation of stupid Modern Warfare clones, and gave rise to the brownification of gaming. Just because X sells more units should not be your business driver if you're working in a creative medium, because guess what? You're only trying to emulate X, which has already

He doesn't have to wait; case in point, Skyrim was getting modded from Day One. But if he does want to play a really old game, he has the option of updating its graphics. Like in my case, I really, really liked Arcanum back in the early 2000's, but it was designed for low-resolution monitors. Mods allowed me to play

Not a fan of the Suicide Girl look, that robot arm seems to be missing the equivalent of a wrist, and her animation seems clunky.

Named mine German. Take that, Hernandez!

First off: Exclusivity is not a plus. Holding products hostage benefits only the publishers, not you.

I'm not arguing fidelity to the point of any loss in actual gaming. Don't be that guy who keeps using that flawed statement. The point is, the difference between 30 and 60 fps exists. Given two games of the exact same narrative quality and play experience, the one with better frame rate will look better.

Yeah, I know cel-shaded CGI can be good. The reason I pointed it out is because I've been watching the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure reboot recently, and that series' opening credits uses cel-shaded CGI.

Shoulda thrown a drink at his face, then yelled, "what, you didn't get the joke?"

She's not the first person to implant a chip under her skin, nor has she been the most idiotic about it.

I'm talking specifically about the Asus VG278HE, which I've had for a little over a year now. The display's pretty solid when it comes to response and fluidity of motion in-game. But compared to the Samsung S22B300 next to it, the Samsung holds its colors better in vertical angles than the Asus.

With what again? Seems like you got cut-off mid-insult.

I have the 27" Asus, and it sits a smidge above eye level (I have a tall desk, and a really crappy chair). If I slouch, my Chrome tabs start to look off-color.

But as I said, it's only noticeable in desktop mode. In-game, it usually doesn't matter.

If your eyes can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, then yeah, a 144Hz monitor would be wasted on you. Also, I'd advise against any sport that requires quick reflexes.

The second downside is that most 120/144Hz monitors are TN panels, which have notoriously bad viewing angles. Not that noticeable in-game, but definitely rears its ugly head on the desktop.

More like, between 60-90 fps is mostly indistinguishable, but once you hit the hundreds, the screen just seems to react instantaneously to your movements. You can do a full 360° turn, with VSync off, and there will be little to no tearing.

Yeah, it's visible. Remember when you thought 30 fps was enough, until you saw 60 fps? It's about that drastic a change.

That looks suspiciously like cel-shaded CGI.

Woulda been more hilarious had they used Mode 7 during the bits where the camera pans across the map.

Uh, have you seen the show? In the very same episode we see Baxter Stockman mutate into a fly, Mikey wears a butterfly costume and calls himself the Turflytle. I don't know how much goofball you imagine the original show to have, but the new one isn't lacking any of it.

Ack, McRedhead ninja'd me! Serves me right for not scrolling down.
