I think their styling had a bigger impact on the sales than anything else. If they had made the car look more like a normal 3/4 series it would have sold much better.

All valid points, except the iX3's 285 mile range is quoted by the WLTP cycle rather the EPA estimate so that range is likely closer to 200 miles as we count them in the US. Either way that is significantly less despite the larger battery (Oddly enough Tesla difference in range is minimal, but that appears unique to…
Let’s see, we bailed them out. Again.
Worth mentioning is that the iX3 is not supposed to come to the US (it was originally going to)
Speaking of Tesla, I think it would be really interesting to see Tesla try their hand at breaking into the Bronco/Jeep market- give us an electric rock crawler or something. The Bronco looks good asf and it would be interesting to see what kind of spin Tesla would put on a comparative EV. Well, so long as it doesn’t…
Yawn. The problem with nostalgia cars is that all the great ingredients of the originals, the essence of what made them great, is thrown out. The Bronco is another over priced, over optioned, “wish you had the original” soft and cushy retro ride. Jeeps and FJs are bloated and now the Bronco is going to follow suit.
Ah, but the “stolen Porsche” video is what made it well known that a Porsche had been stolen. Without that sort of publicity, I doubt anyone would have heard or cared enough... :/
I’ll never forget the time my buddy and I signed up for a 100 some mile charity ride. He has his Ducati and I had my MV Agusta and everyone else had their Dirty Davidson. We couldn’t just go and enjoy the ride, we had to stop at every little shit hole bar along the way to prolong the agony because alcohol and…
“get Harley-Davidson on a path to winning,”................. so much winning that we’ll all be sick of winning. Wonder which other idiot in recent history said that and is also associated with the color orange?
My wife and I walk every night and we get the occasional Harley drive by. I can’t wait for that to be a thing of the past.
Plus we were still drunk on the Post 9/11 testosterone high, where we needed to be as big and as loud and as performatively patriotic as possible. Perfect HD market territory. Now, though, the boomers are getting older, the people who are performatively loud and in your face with their patriotism are seen as…
15 years ago, the Boomers were solidly in the midlife crisis/early retirement splurge age. Those are the sort of folks who buy new motorcycles (and can afford a toy that costs as much as a decent new car).
I think that falls under the “burn it to the ground...” category.
They’d still not get past the stigma of the Harley name. It’s their own fault.
Plus with the ongoing clusterfuck that is the Brexit [England, why are you doing this to yourself still?] it is unlikely they will choose the UK if they can avoid it.
Brexit, which was overwhelming supported by Wales, has been economically damaging to the region. And was a factor in things like the Ford plant closing.
I kind of expect better from you.
Frankly, this just sounds like a company trying to do what is best for it. Yeah, they may have changed their original manufacturing plans but nearly all auto companies do at some point.
