Yeah, they did that to appeal to the international audience. To be fair, a lot of people in Hong Kong speak English, and the English level here is the highest you'll find in the greater China region. But the game was like 90% English and 10% Canto, when in reality life in HK is probably the exact opposite.

Good article, man. I liked the game a lot because of two main points:

I really loved this article, there's a lot I related to within it. My father is Chinese-Mexican (Chexican as my family likes to say). He grew up in Mexico and speaks Spanish, which my caucasian mother picked up along the way. Both of my old siblings are fluent in Spanish, but me and my younger sister aren't as my

I'm tired of this. We focus on teaching women not to be raped; now we are starting to focus on teaching everyone around a potential victim to stop her from getting raped. There is still so little that is actually geared towards the criminal themselves.

They forgot "We have a black president so stop bitching"

Announcing that white folks freed the slaves (after enslaving them first) is a new one, though.

And oddly enough, none of them appeared to have brought their black friend to the game

Automatic assumption that black people don't have jobs. Check

Alternatively, it's saying "I'm a white person ignorant of racism and rather than face the problems and try to solve it, I insist on perpetuating the problem and acting indignant when someone points out racism."

You don't understand it because you are sane.

Because they are racists.

Saying "I am Darren Wilson" is essentially saying "I am a piece of shit cop who shot and murdered an unarmed black kid." Why are people saying this with pride? I don't understand.

These people do not speak for the entirety of Cardinals fans, I assure you. The overt racism that has raised its ugly head following the Michael Brown shooting here has disgusted and embarrassed me. I'm white, I'm a St. Louisan, and I'm a Cardinals fan, and I don't blame anyone for hating on any of us right now.

At about 10:25 a small blonde lady starts yelling at the protesters: "We're the ones who gave all y'all the freedoms that you have!"

Those Cardinals fans love dominant pitching, but will gladly settle for three Ks.

In defense of the guy in the "Darren Wilson" jersey, he comes from a long line of assholes who murdered young black men.

One thing is for certain here: this sort of ugliness would never happen in Los Angeles. I mean, can you imagine anyone trying to stick up for the LAPD?

The white, middle class Cardinal fans feel good about themselves because they "told off" the protesters. The protesters are happy because they got attention and media coverage. And Deadspin found another reason to rag on St. Louis. Everybody wins.

As they say, Cardinals fans are the classists in baseball.
