They didn’t wipe the MCU film slate, they just slid a couple back. Like they do every time they announce a big slate early.

I mean, maybe I’m old, but 2026 does seem like “quite a while”, especially given that A. we’re still not done with Phase 4 and B. there’s a whole Phase 5 still.

I think the MCU should have taken a break for a year or two after Avengers: Engame. The finality of that event was colossal, especially after a decade of buildup. A vacation for all was well-earned. Take time for reflection. Take a break.

As someone how is ravenous and will happily devour just about anything Marvel, this is all very welcome news. I think Phase 4 has shown that, more than anything, rushing to get projects in front of people is not the best approach. That’s not to say any of it has been bad, but a lot of it has felt like empty calories.…

What’s weird is that I’m actually enjoying the MCU more now than ever because it seems like it’s just the world learning how to deal with super-people at an everyday level.
