Given this site’s usual editorial values, it’s disappointing to me that this wasn’t mentioned:
The real issue for these big companies is that they just don’t want dedicated players spending 200+ hours on something, even a product they sell. They want them spending money every couple of hours or too bored to continue playing so they’ll go buy something else (preferably something from an in-game ad).
Again, I am not advocating ignoring anyone. I am saying that engaging with “you are a murderer and I will never agree with you” is arguably worse than ignoring the problem altogether because it provides credibility and a platform to a fringe idea that requires a logical jump to “sure, I can see how you’d feel like I…
Remember horse armor from Oblivion? Remember how we all laughed? Simpler times, then
Yeah, where are the makers of Fortnite going to find a whole bunch of customers who don’t have brand loyalty to the makers of Half-Life 2?

I’d wager it’s a play for the Chinese audience more than investment money, Marvel has an unprecedented streak of profitable movies, but sometimes the approvals process mysteriously ramps up once a Chinese company comes on board so who knows
Why fire them when you could just promote other people? “Your supervisor says you’ve been avoiding her” is much clearer cause for termination
Without getting into predictions, it’s fair to say that the Senate and Supreme Court will the centerpieces of GOP power going forward. They’re currently trying to run a two-party democracy with 35-40% of the population supporting them and no bipartisan buy-in, gerrymandering and voter suppression work but they can’t…

Well, the first time they pulled this shit Donnie personally dictated Don Jr’s response to the Trump Tower meeting, and then Don Jr tweeted out evidence that that response was false and he’d probably committed a crime. So I get where Rudy is coming from on a sportmanship level at least
The characters maybe, but the actors and crew have been released from their contracts. It would take a lot of money, all new contracts, and none of the cast and crew finding new work. There’s also the matter of whether Netflix owns those versions of the characters, that would mean that to bring the existing seasons…
I’m just picturing the writer watching like Planet Earth or something and thinking “I gotta make sure to describe this in my next draft”
I never advocated doing nothing, if anything my point is that engaging with anti-choice people on the issue is a dead end because it wastes energy and resources that can be spent elsewhere. They are able to “spread bullshit science and philosophy” so well because attempts to engage them in debate give them a platform…
This picture should accompany every article about Kid Rock’s “Ted Nugent But With Less Intense Eye Contact” rebrand
The other side’s point of view is that the opposition are murderers, as you state yourself. What is there to gain by engaging with that?
This was a good interview, it’s really cool to hear the issue discussed in terms of principles and desired outcome instead of manipulative memes or just putting two talking heads next to each other and letting them yell.
