I have a better idea: move to the West Coast. Being a fan of sports out here is great. NFL at 10 am on Sunday? You bet! NBA Playoff games at 5 pm? Sign me up! MBL/NHL/MLS matches that also benefit from this? Probably!?!

I was really hoping he’d opt into the second year of his 1&1 with GS, take the whole year to rehab, then enter free agency next summer. It hamstrings GS, and gives him just a little bit of payback against the team that mismanaged his injury.
I have no doubt that Nashville feels expensive, but c'mon...
You know what they say about your own dogfood?
I’d argue he’s not even a sportswriter...he’s an Access Merchant. He trades his standing and connections for access. He does this because we the fans want this. We want Woj bombs. We want insight as soon as it can be gleaned. We don’t care what he has to do to get it.
Interesting to think who’d be the most valuable players in this league. Probably a mix of the toughest/craziest/most loyal guys in the league. I’ll start the list:
Your second sentence is fine. Your first sentence was the issue.
That’s just it, ESPECIALLY with the hook grip. You can only train that grip so much, because it will obliterate your thumb skin (especially as fatigue sets in during a session). Personally, I can use it 2-3 times per session on heavy singles. After that, I have to go mixed grip or straps, otherwise rips are opening up…
Chalk and straps are necessities is you’re planning to pursue a big deadlift. Chalk for the heavy singles/double/triples, straps for the higher rep volume work needed to drive your singles higher. And if you get somebody giving you crap about straps, just know they’re idiots. If you’re going to compete at…
Eh, I have no problem with your response, I just wanted to keep the “Eh” train going.
Eh, that may be true, but his “BANG!” catchphrase has been part of so many huge moments in the NBA over the past decade, to the point that I’m willing to overlook the other stuff. It’s a rare catchphrase that actually enhances the experience. Ray Allen’s game 6 corner 3 is intrinsically tied to it, for example.
This is a man who’s been to Harris Ranch.
Really good points on the value of video for yourself: the lifter is a bad judge while the lift is happening. At sufficiently heavy weights, time seems to slow down, noise and music begins to warp and sound lower and strange, and it feels like an eternity of pushing. Then you look at the video, and it was a mildly…
What a series! Durant and his exploded calf...Klay and his shredded hammy, Kawhi and his malfunctioning anterior starboard actuators.
Wonderful and long ass describes that drive very well.
Lol...right, the kids deserved verbal abuse for doing kid things. Do women who get raped deserve it for what they were wearing? Go away.
Maybe there’s a section on “Dad’s that give their kids Daddy Issues”?
I know your last sentence was a joke, but dammit that sounds good.
Fair enough on the first point. I mostly empathize, but it’s difficult for me to ever fully turn off the “good heavens this is silly” voice in my head while watching or playing sports.
Yep. Which, if you see sports in a purely social-impact lens, barring transgendered athletes for any reason, hell even setting a testosterone limit, is anathema. And since sports are, overall, a silly thing, I think there is plenty of merit to this view and argument.
