Combustion chamber/head design and direct injection come in to it a lot too. There was a noticeable reduction in quality of engine sounds as DI came out, it’s just that a turbocharging became popular at the same time.

There’s still some oddities about it too. The BMW N55 engine sounds good, an S55 takes work to sound

Suppository?

Weirdly that engine in a Fiesta with a manual is a lot of fun.

A guy at work recently put an exhaust on his Raptor. It now sounds like a louder version of someone shitting down a pipe.

I live a few blocks from the police station. This is a weekly occurrence and there a many, many children in my area. Once it happened on my way to work and I found them all at a relatively minor two car accident just over a mile from the station.

My response was directly targeted at where the dropped pin is in that map, not the actual street they are on as identified by other comments.

I call bullshit on the 150mph claim based on that map.

Cops fly around my neighborhood all the time on the way to whatever “emergency” they have been called to. It’s a 95% residential section of the city, most cross streets are single side parking due to street width. Sometimes they have lights on, sometimes not, even less frequently do they have sirens on. Almost always

A guy at work already stopped driving his ridiculous, lifted, off road tired Silverado to change to a 10 year old Elantra because it was too expensive for him to fill up.

I’m okay with it because I no longer have to be worried about being run down in the parking lot by something whose hood line is higher than my head

Future oil demands are looking lower and lower as time goes on, reducing the need to the incredibly environmentally damaging process that is fracking.

Incoming passengers was just halved from 6200/week to 3100/week. Currently there are over 20000 Australians on the list as wanting to return home, if you don’t have the means to pay for business class, there is a very good chance you are playing flight lottery and you may have your seat taken away multiple times.

Big companies get weird when you dive into it too much. I work for one of the oldest and largest Japanese companies and between all of their various subsidiaries you can have some fun. I have had an electric gearmotor made by another subsidiary, shipped through our air cargo business, insured by the insurance branch

There’s a couple of white ones floating around my area now. It looks like a jelly bean shaped kitchen appliance.

Hard disagree on that one. Daily drove a RWD, 6MT, M235i in the land of lake effect snow. Never got stuck, drove an 11 mile each way commute. Tires and attitude are more important.

*rolls eyes

The lack of handbrake usage in the states is baffling.

I’ve been in the US for just over seven years now and every year I watch the LNP try to destroy what I left behind and the ALP sit by like a batch of imbeciles who can’t even put forward a single decent piece of policy or a likeable opposition leader.

I’ll be moving back next year because I’ll die before I send my

Starred for the kids names.

You mean like they already do?
